During the Sunday, July 12, episode of her Plan Bri Uncut podcast, LaPaglia, 27, called Bunnie, 46, out for seemingly “protecting” the “Save Me” singer, 41, after confirming their split following 10 years of marriage last month.
“She’s still under the mind control of him,” LaPaglia alleged during the episode. “This is why I know she doesn’t mean that because all of her closest friends are reposting … the most asinine, crazy, insulting videos about Jelly Roll and how he’s the worst person, and how people only like him because of Bunnie.”
“Bunnie is just doing the thing where she’s still protecting him, which I went through that at a point too,” she continued, seemingly referencing her public split with Zach Bryan in 2024, in which she claimed the country star blindsided her after announcing their breakup on social media. LaPaglia later alleged that Bryan was controlling and tried to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement during their relationship.
“It’s like, you’re not fully stepped out of the situation yet [and] can’t even understand what’s happening to you, and she just still wants to protect him, and she still wants to encourage [him],” LaPaglia added of the divorce, which Jelly Roll filed for in May following an alleged fight on Mother’s Day. Despite their separation, Jelly Roll and Bunnie have each asserted that they remain best friends and are even planning to have a child together.

That’s not the only reason for their divorce, LaPaglia believes, telling her listeners that she thinks Jelly Roll’s 200-pound weight loss has played a part.
“She’s going to step out of this a year from now and be like, ‘Holy [expletive], Jelly Belly [expletive] lost weight,’ and the second he drops weight, take it for what it actually is,” the Barstool Sports personality speculated. “Of course, there’s probably other proponents that go into it, but his ego and how he is as a person clearly changed when he lost the weight and he thought that he can do better.”
While Bunnie has shared that her ex has been dating, LaPaglia joked that she thinks the country crooner will go after a “trad wife” next.
Further sharing her disdain for Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, LaPaglia added that “the only redeeming and beautiful quality” of the singer seems to be his attachment to Bunnie.

“Of course, maybe some people like his music, I don’t know who those are, but the only redeeming thing about him was how much he loved his wife,” LaPaglia theorized, going so far as to claim Jelly Roll wouldn’t be as well known as he’s become without the Dumb Blonde podcaster.
She continued, “[They were] in union they were, and how they made it out together, and they built this incredible life from the dark past that they had together. It’s, like, to finally amount to this point of your life where you’ve made it, and then you lose all this weight, and you start talking different, you start acting different, and then you drop the woman that saved you and, kind of, made you. I don’t think there would be Jelly Roll at this level if it wasn’t for Bunnie.”
