Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Reach Settlement in Lengthy ‘It Ends With Us’ Legal Battle

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively have finally ended their prolonged legal battle with a reported settlement.

TMZ reported on Monday, May 4, that both sides agreed to settle the case, which involved both sides accusing each other of defamation over statements and details leaked from the dispute they had while making It Ends With Us. The outlet reports that both sides released a statement acknowledging the settlement and stating that they no longer want it to color the movie.

“The end product – the movie It Ends With Us — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind,” the statement read, via the outlet.

“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard,” the statement continued. “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments.”

“It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online,” the statement concluded.

Interestingly, neither side admits to any wrongdoing in the statement and neither Baldoni, 41, nor Lively, 37, offered any kind of apology. Previously, 10 of Lively’s 13 claims against Baldoni were dismissed by a judge. In addition, Baldoni previously countersued, requesting $400 million in damages — this claim was also dismissed by a judge.

Lively initially accused the director of improvising kisses and touches without her consent, discussing his sex life and fat-shaming her. She went on to accuse him of orchestrating a media manipulation campaign on social media against her.

Baldoni denied the allegations and later released a 168-page alleged “Timeline of Relevant Events” post — along with his amended complaint — on a special website that went live on February 1, 2025. It includes several emails, texts and other communications between him, Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. He also released raw footage from the set of the movie.

Further details of the settlement have not been released.
