Benji Madden Shares Rare Selfie With Cameron Diaz for 10th Wedding Anniversary: ‘Always Reliable’

Benji Madden has plenty of reasons to celebrate his wife, Cameron Diaz, including the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary and her return to acting.

“This is my QUEEN. I celebrate this BAD ASS WOMAN. Wife, Mommy, friend, partner, Boss, and lover. We just hit 10 YEARS married on January 5th and every year only gets more fulfilling,” Benji, 45, wrote alongside pictures of Cameron, 52, via Instagram on Friday, January 17. “It’s special. Never perfect – always real – always reliable. Every day getting to have my best friend with me ride or die … what a beautiful life – I am GRATEFUL!!! and ANOTHER MiLESTONE happening TOMORROW!!! We are SO happy to see you … BACK IN ACTION!! … Congrats baby!!”

The Charlie’s Angels star took a break from the big screen after her role in 2014’s Annie, and in 2021, she opened up about her decision during a conversation with Kevin Hart on Hart to Hart.

“When you do something at a really high level for a long period of time, when you’re the person that is delivering one thing, you’re the person on the screen, all parts of you that isn’t that has to sort of be handed off to other people,” Cameron explained.

While The Mask actress stepped away from the silver screen, she and Benji welcomed two children. Their daughter, Raddix, was born in 2019, followed by a son, Cardinal, in 2024.

The mom of two revealed that a large part of her decision to retire was so that she could focus on her family.

“For me, it was just something I had to do. It felt like something I had to do to reclaim my own life. And I just really didn’t care about anything else,” Cameron told the crowd at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in October 2024. “Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have. What are you passionate about? For me, it was to build my family.”

However, it was ultimately Benji who convinced her to return to acting.

“We were in the house for a long time, which was amazing,” Cameron continued at the event. “So, I had to push myself. My husband, he’s just the best. He was just like, ‘You’ve been supporting us and building the family.’ And supporting him in his businesses. He’s like, ‘It’s time for us to support you and let mommy ascend and do her do her thing.’”

In January, Cameron’s movie Back in Action hit Netflix, and the Shrek star has said that her costar Jamie Foxx played a part in encouraging her to step in front of the cameras again.

“I had 10 years of not paying attention to anything; not accepting any advances, and then I got this script and thought that maybe it was time,” Cameron said during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, January 17, per People. “If I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business.”
