Ben Affleck’s Former Flame Lindsay Shookus ‘Still Reaches Out’ to Him

What is it about Ben Affleck that makes women so darn compassionate? The actor, 46, still has an amicable relationship with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, thanks to her unwavering support, and now, In Touch has learned exclusively learned that Ben’s ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus keeps in contact with the father-of-three as well.

“[Lindsay] still reaches out to check on how he’s doing,” the source confessed. “She and Ben parted as friends, it wasn’t this nasty breakup that some have said. He needed to get his life in order, by that I mean get sober.” 

Sober, indeed. The A-lister is so committed to his recovery, in fact, that he’s forsaken all romantic relationships. According to Life & Style magazine, Ben is “taking a year off from dating,” which includes “no sex.” If that’s not a testament to his dedication, we don’t know what is. “No romantic entanglement means no distractions. It’s tough, but Ben knows he needs to focus on his mental state and physical health right now,” an insider told the publication.

That said, if Ben were to revisit any of his past flings, Lindsay, 38, wouldn’t be a bad choice. “They had a very good, grown-up relationship, and they had a lot of fun together. They were very compatible,” the source noted. Lindsay is still following Ben on social media and she still likes his photos. If he called her today and said let’s meet up, she’d be there in a heartbeat.”

As far as Jennifer, 46, is concerned? Well, she’s living her best life with her new beau, John Miller. So much so, that the newly-minted couple are reportedly talking marriage already! You go, Jen. Here’s hoping that her blossoming relationship doesn’t negatively affect Ben’s hard-earned sobriety. Fingers crossed!
