Ben Affleck Looks Healthy 2 Months After Relapse While With His Daughter Violet

Looking good, Ben Affleck! The actor was spotted out and about with his oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5, and he seemed to be in great spirits — just two months after he apparently relapsed. The 47-year-old looked casual in a dark jacket along with khaki pants and blue sneakers while the 14-year-old sported a pink sweater with a flower skirt along with white kicks.

Before the Good Will Hunting alum — who also shares Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 7, with his ex Jennifer Garner — met up with Violet, he was seen walking by himself with his hands in his pockets. Once he was with his daughter, the two looked like they were having a cute conversation as he wrapped his arm around her.

It’s refreshing to see the Hollywood A-lister looking healthy and happy these days ever since he had a sobriety slip in October. At the time, Ben admitted he messed up and apologized for his actions. “Well, you know, it happens. It’s a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me,” he told cameramen outside of Jen’s home one day after he was intoxicated at the UNICEF Masquerade Ball in West Hollywood.

However, the 47-year-old 13 Going on 30 star was not thrilled with her ex after his night out on the town. “He promised Jen he’d stay sober, but he didn’t,” a source told In Touch exclusively. However, it seems like the California native got his act together. “The kids mean the world to Ben — he wants to be with them — so he doesn’t intend to have another slip,” the insider added. “He’s committed to staying sober, and in time he knows Jen will learn to trust him again.”

Since then, Ben has been spending time with his family — from going to church, soccer practice and being with his brood around the holidays, it seems like he is back on track.

At the end of the day, the Golden Globes winner is committed to being the best father possible. “I hope I’m a pretty good dad,” he said during an appearance on the Today show in March. “I certainly try very hard. I’m lucky they got a great mom, and she helps out a great deal with making sure that we coparent in as good a way as possible. Dads are important to kids, and it’s our responsibility to be there for them — to be present, to be mindful, to be attentive, to be part of their lives, to be as in it as moms.” Preach!
