Who Are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s 3 Kids? Here’s a Look Inside Their Private Lives!

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may have parted ways in 2015. However, the former married couple still know how to coparent their three children — Violet, Fin and Samuel. The exes have amicably put their differences aside for the sake of their kiddies.

Although Ben and Jen, who finalized their divorce in 2018, do their best to keep their children’s lives private, the youngsters are often photographed out and about with their parents and have grown up in the public eye.

Violet Affleck

Violet is the oldest daughter of the bunch, born in December 2005. The teen is a dead ringer for her famous momma and has even shown several personality traits similar to the Alias star. Violet “not only [looks] identical to Jen, [but] they share similar personality traits, too, like their passion for cooking. Violet [is] a real mommy’s girl,” an insider once told In Touch Weekly. She also “likes to explore and play” with beauty products.

The source also shared what great big sis Violet is to her younger siblings. “Violet’s extremely protective of [Fin] and Samuel and really watches out for [them],” the insider said. “She’s extremely mature for her age.”

Jen even gushed to People in March 2019 about her eldest’s intellect. “She’s really smart about, ‘OK, now I’m leaving the house, now I need to check with my mom because chances are, she’s gonna make me take this lip off,’” Jen said. “Which I do. So that’s kind of where we are with it.”

Ben marveled over Violet’s fluency in Spanish during a March 2020 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “She’s always been a very good student, and she’s been interested in Spanish, and so I would often help her. Now, all of a sudden, she’s gotten into the grade where she’s, like, in the harder Spanish classes and she’s getting better,” he said. “She’s right at the point where I think she might be passing me.”

“I was like, ‘Nope. This is not happening,’” he laughed. “I don’t mind that I can’t do your math homework when you’re 14 years old, but you are not going to be better at Spanish than me. So I’ve decided now I gotta take classes. I gotta do something to keep up.”

Fin Affleck

Ben and Jen’s middle child was born with the name Seraphina Affleck in 2009. However, in 2024, it was confirmed that Seraphina had changed their name to Fin Affleck.

In March 2024, the family attended a memorial service for Jennifer’s late father, and the church where the event took place streamed it live on Facebook. When Fin approached the podium to read a Bible verse, they were wearing a suit and tie with their hair styled in a buzz cut. “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck,” they said when introducing themself. 

The service came just weeks after Fin stepped out with a shaved head for the first time. During the February 2024 outing, they also carried a backpack with the name “FIN” stitched on it.

“I’m just watching them in this new phase of life where they’re figuring out who they’re going to be and what they’re going to study,” Jennifer said of her kids in a 2024 interview. “And I’m so interested in them. All the time. I’m interested in everything about them.”

An insider previously exclusively told In Touch that Fin and Samuel have a “unique bond” and “spend hours playing together,” adding, “They squabble at times like all siblings, but generally speaking, they get on.”

Another source also said that Fin has a bit of a wild side. “[Fin] is adorable and super outgoing. [They have] more of a mischievous streak than the other two and is incredibly close to Ben,” the insider dished. Fin graduated from sixth grade in 2021 and showed their independent side with a short pixie cut after wearing their hair long for years.

Samuel

Born in February 2012, Samuel is the youngest in the family. “Samuel used to be quietest, but he’s beginning to come out of his shell,” a source revealed. “He looks up to his older siblings.” Samuel also loves to be seen with Ben taking walks around town after school. Samuel is a sporty boy and even scored a place on his swim team.

Ben proudly humble-bragged about Samuel’s baseball skills during a March 2019 visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I’m a coach on the Little League team and it’s going great,” he said. “He’s awesome, it’s a lot of fun. The kids are great kids. I do have to wear a Dodgers hat, because that is the team, but you know … ” the avid Boston Red Sox fan noted.

In June 2022, Samuel made headlines when he got into a fender-bender at just 10 years old. During a visit to a luxury car rental dealership in Los Angeles with Ben and his then-fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, Samuel somehow got behind the wheel of a yellow Lamborghini that’s engine was running. According to TMZ, Samuel seemed to back the car into a white BMW.

Luckily Samuel wasn’t hurt in the accident and Ben’s rep told Entertainment Tonight that “everyone is fine.”
