Adele and Her Husband, Simon Konecki, Separate After 2 Years of Marriage

It’s over. Adele and her husband, Simon Konecki, are splitting up after two years of marriage, In Touch can confirm. The singer’s representative told In Touch on April 19, “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

Adele, 30, and Simon, 45, share a 6-year-old son — Angelo. It sounds like they’re committed to coparenting him civilly, even though their marriage has come to an end.

The “Set Fire to the Rain” singer and her now-former partner went public with their relationship in January 2012. She announced her pregnancy with their first child together six months later, and Angelo was born that October. An insider told Us Weekly at the time, “Simon is the perfect partner and Angelo is just her life. Adele loves being a mom. Simon helps her in every way and is a great dad. They are just incredibly happy.”

Adele shocked and excited fans everywhere in March 2017 when she thanked her “husband” Simon during her Grammy’s acceptance speech that year. “Grammys, I appreciate it, the Academy, I love you, my manager, my husband, and my son. You’re the only reason I do it,” she said, in what appeared to be the first time she publicly confirmed they had gotten married.

Later, during her Australian stadium tour, Adele told fans while talking about her hit “Someone Like You,” “I was trying to remember how it was I felt at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that record, because as bad as a breakup can be, as bitter and horrible and messy as it can be, that feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth and I am addicted to that feeling.”

“Obviously, I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now,” Adele continued. “I’ve found my next person.” Sadly, the songstress may be offering more breakup singles soon.
