The “ship has sailed” for a rekindled romance between Ben Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, In Touch has exclusively learned.

“Does Ben want another chance to make a romantic relationship work with Jen? Not really,” a source exclusively tells In Touch. “He credits her for never giving up on him and he’s grateful for what he and Jen have today.”

Jen, 52, and Ben, 52, were married from June 2005 to October 2018 and have remained cordial after their split to coparent their three children – Violet Affleck, Seraphina “Fin” Affleck and Samuel Affleck — who they welcomed during their 13-year union. The pair finalized their divorce seven years ago, and the Alias star continued to support the Gone Girl actor after their breakup as she helped him enter a rehab facility that same year.

Their connection has remained tight over the years as they’re frequently seen together at school events and during holidays, also supporting each other in times of need — most notably during the L.A. fires in January 2025.

Ben and Jen were recently caught getting cozy while celebrating their son Samuel’s 13th birthday at a paintball range. Footage shared by the Daily Mail UK captured the exes as Ben held Jen close and rested his hands on her hips during the outing.

Although Ben’s face was hidden by his protective mask, it was clear he was the one embracing his ex wife as his gray jacket and shirt were visible.

“Speculation about Ben and Jen’s friendly relationship hasn’t gone unnoticed by them,” the insider adds. “They find it amusing, but it isn’t just the talk of Hollywood. Even their kids and closest friends have wondered what the heck was going on. They do have to remind them they’re just friendly exes.”

Although the reconciliation rumors are “expected” by Ben and Jen since they spend so much time together, the source says it’s “not going to happen.”

“Ben has joked with Jen that if he had a time machine and could bring the guy he is today to his marriage to Jen back then, they’d probably still be together,” the insider states. “But there’s no use in speculating what could have been. They really get along now.”

According to the source, Jen “isn’t interested in getting back with Ben” and would rather have a “healthy, coparenting relationship.”

Jen has been dating tech CEO John Miller since 2018, shortly after her divorce from Ben was finalized. John, 46, marked Jen’s first relationship following her split from Ben.

The pair dated for two years before In Touch confirmed in August 2020 that they split up before Los Angeles “went into lockdown” amid the coronavirus pandemic. By May 2021, however, the two were back on.

Meanwhile, Ben made it down the aisle in July 2022 with Jennifer Lopez nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement in the early 2000s. After reuniting in April 2021, Ben popped the question for the second time one year later and it seemed they finally got their happily ever after.

However, J. Lo, 55, filed for divorce in August 2024 after two years of marriage. The Wedding Planner actress listed April 26, 2024, as her and Ben’s official date of separation, and their divorce was finalized on January 6, 2025.
