Who Is Callie Truelove?

Callie starred on Love on the Spectrum season 3. In addition to reality TV, she is an advocate for those suffering with Williams syndrome, who travels across the country to raise awareness about the condition.

Callie Truelove Starred in a Documentary About Her Battle With Williams Syndrome

Callie appeared as herself in 2023’s Truelove: The Film. She was 16 years old when the project started filming. It featured Callie and her mom, Tabitha Truelove, traveling across the United States to meet others with her condition, as well as their families.

The award-winning documentary showed the world through Callie’s eyes as she spread the message of love. The film was produced by former actor Christopher Knight, who played Peter Brady on the beloved 1970s sitcom The Brady Bunch.

“Callie has always had such a love for people — a love that God put in her and that she just loves to share to uplift others,” Tabitha told The Gainesville Times in 2022. “She wants everyone to know that even though they have a disability, it doesn’t matter. You may do things different or you may live your life different, but you’re worthy of love and everything that life has to offer, you deserve to tell your story and live life to the fullest.”

What Is Williams Syndrome?

Williams syndrome is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that can result in delayed development and cognitive challenges, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Williams syndrome is a genetic condition caused by a deletion of genetic material in a region of chromosome 7, which can result in unique physical features and cardiovascular abnormalities. It affects approximately 1 in every 10,000 births in the U.S.

When Was Callie Truelove Diagnosed With Williams Syndrome?

Callie was diagnosed when she was an infant, and she wasn’t expected to live to see her first birthday.

“A lot of people feel uncomfortable talking about their disability because they’re afraid people won’t take them seriously, but I’m not,” she told The Gainesville Times. “I love to talk about my disability because I think it’s a miracle instead of a disability.”

What Happened Between Callie Truelove and Tanner Smith on ‘Love on the Spectrum?’

Tanner and Callie went on a few dates in a local park together in season 3. The South Carolina native even told his love interest she was “smoking hot” and kissed her on the cheek at one point.

“You’re very nice and very kind, and I like your personality. And you’re easy to talk to. You’re very sweet and kind too. I love somebody who likes to talk,” Tanner told Callie.

While the two got along well, they decided to just be friends.

However, after season 3 premiered on April 2, 2025, Tanner and Callie reunited to have dinner at The Shepherd Hotel where he worked.

“Hey everybody! Callie came to Clemson to visit us and she got me Frankie [Antonelli] and all of our friends here at the Shepherd Hotel and we ate dinner, and we had strawberry cake for dessert,” Tanner said in an April 11, 2025, video, in which he had his arms wrapped around Callie and Frankie.

Callie said that people were asking her for updates about her relationship status with Tanner, and revealed, “The update is that we are hanging out and we are enjoying it, and we love ourselves and we love hanging out together. He is just the sweetest guy I ever met in my whole life.”
