According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a man was spotted acting erratically near the property’s gate. He was quickly apprehended and held at gunpoint by security before officers arrived, according to a report from TMZ. The suspect allegedly attempted to gain access to the property.

Authorities said they’re looking into the case as a possible stalking situation, according to the outlet.

Thankfully, Aniston was unharmed and not directly confronted during the incident. Sources close to the actress said she was home at the time but remained inside as her team and law enforcement handled the situation.

Who Is Jimmy Wayne Carwyle?

Authorities released the suspect’s name as Jimmy Wayne Carwyle and revealed there’s an ongoing investigation. He was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and taken into custody, according to the LAPD. Carwyle is from Mississippi and works as a mechanic.

Police are also looking into several public posts on Carwyle’s Facebook page that mention Aniston, including many that refer to the Horrible Bosses star as his “wife.”

“It started before, but with the word’s, seek ME as a Wife should, fear was felt, wasn’t it Emanuel Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carwyle!” Carwyle wrote in one post. “Don’t lie, that was before ‘the arm twist even lol’ I came at YOU as A Perfect Husband with those WORD’S, & come to find out, I AM not only your Perfect Husband, but The One GOD HIMSELF PROCLAIMED AS PERFECT, SOME CHICKEN NUGGET’S WOULD GOOD, LA COUNTY LOVE’S ME!, MAKE CHICKEN NUGGET LOVE ME LA COUNTY.”

In another message Carwyle claimed that unknown forces were keeping him from Aniston.

“If someone out there can reach Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carwyle, let her know about the corruption going on trying to keep Me from her, you will be Blessed!” the post read.

Jimmy Wayne Carwyle’s Friends Spoke Out

Two of Carwyle’s childhood friends spoke out about the incident.

“This is not Jimmy,” Carwyle’s friend Marty Merritt told NBC News on May 7, 2025. “I really hate that this happened to Miss Aniston, this was terrible. But since it did, the only thing I hope is this would get enough attention, attention that could get Jimmy some help. He needs some serious help. This is rock bottom.”

Another man named Steve Rhea, who grew up with Carwyle, told the outlet that he hopes Carwyle “gets the help he needs.”

Rhea also gave an update about Carwyle’s situation on his Facebook page.

“I tried to contact Jimmy’s Mom, Sister n Law and Daughter prior to what just happened and before I posted it. But Jimmy’s in a lot of trouble,” Rhea wrote on May 6, 2025. “I did [an interview] for Inside Edition that is supposed to air tomorrow night or the next night. It’s all directed toward getting Jimmy off on an insanity plea, and I ask for anyone that can help him to contact his family or myself.”

Jimmy Wayne Carwyle Was Charged With Felony Stalking and Vandalism

The Los Angeles Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced on May 7, 2025, that Carwyle was facing felony stalking and vandalism charges. They alleged that Carwyle had been harassing Aniston since March 2023 by “sending her unwanted social media, voicemail and email messages.”

“Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement. “My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.”

Carwyle faces up to three years in prison if convicted as charged.
