Survivor Season 48: Premiere Date, Cast, Location and More

Another group of castaways is fighting for survival. Survivor season 48 was confirmed in November 2024, and the details of the season, including the premiere date, cast, location and more, were later announced in January 2025. Fans won’t have to wait long to watch the next sole survivor claim the $1 million prize.

Where Was ‘Survivor’ Season 48 Filmed? Location Revealed

Survivor season 48 was filmed in the Mamanuca Islands of Fiji, where the show has taken place since season 33. Before that, Survivor was filmed in locations like Nicaragua, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, Panama, Samoa and more.

In 2017, host Jeff Probst explained that Fiji seemed to be a perfect setting for the reality show. “Fiji offers us everything that we want,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “Incredibly beautiful water that you can see down 30 feet, beaches that are amazing, a government that is working with us, local labor that loves to say ‘Bula!’ every day because they’re just happy you’re here. And our crew has never been as happy. We actually have decent accommodations to do this show out in the jungle. It’s a win-win-win.”

“I hope we stay here forever,” he added. “This is our home, and I hope we end our show here.”

Who Is the Host of ‘Survivor’ Season 48?

Jeff is here to stay! The long-running host of the CBS will return for season 48.

Who Is in the Cast of ‘Survivor’ Season 48?

In a statement shared along with the cast announcement on January 29, 2025, CBS shared that Survivor 48 promises “a bold new group of competitors, inspired gameplay, and momentous tribal councils.”

“Nearly 25 years since it first premiered, Survivor continues to be the ultimate test of stamina and will as a fresh group of castaways begins the adventure of a lifetime when they’re stranded on the picturesque islands of Fiji,” the statement continued, per TV Insider. “This latest group of players must form a new society and nimbly adapt to their surroundings while contending with unforeseen obstacles and navigating an increasingly complex social game.”

The players competing on the 48th season are diverse competitors armed with fresh perspectives and a fervent passion for the game, with the same ultimate goal: to claim the title of Sole Survivor and win the $1 million prize.”
