While Survivor 50 doesn’t premiere until 2026, the casting process is underway with former castaways from throughout the show’s 48 seasons so far. Fans already have theories and speculations about which former contestants will be competing in the show’s milestone season.

What Is ‘Survivor’ 50?

Host and executive producer Jeff Probst announced in 2024 that the show’s 50th season would feature all returning players.

The season — known as Survivor 50 — is set to air in the spring of 2026, after Survivor 49 has its run in the fall of 2025.

“It’s a good question, who are the players? I’m not kidding when I say [the process] is nothing other than everybody’s writing a list of all their favorite players, and then I think we’ll look at it and start to figure out [how to break it down],” Jeff told Entertainment Tonight in 2024.

“Does that mean a season filled primarily with Hall of Famers? One populated with lesser-seen cast members? We’ll have to wait to find out!” he teased.

The Official ‘Survivor’ 50 Cast Has Yet to Be Announced

The complete final list will likely be determined at the last minute. Not even the contestants will know who else made the final cut until they are dropped off in Fiji to start the game, according to Paramount.

A ‘Survivor’ Fan Spoiler Site Hinted at Which Former Seasons Will be Represented on ‘Survivor’ 50

The spoiler site Inside Survivor dropped a list of the number of players from certain seasons that are reportedly being cast for Survivor 50.

Superfan and Survivor insider Redmond — who runs the site — has been quite accurate in the past with predictions about each season’s location and cast members. He said that he wouldn’t post the full cast until once they were all in Fiji — where Survivor 50 is taking place — because changes can still happen at the last minute.

As of April 21, 2025, he believed that a woman from Survivor season 47 had been added to the cast, leading fans to speculate that it was fan favorite Genevieve Mushaluk.

Redmond also shared a list of “speculated confirmations” that he’d heard about and felt “90 percent” confident about the casting.

Those contestants included a man and a woman who competed in the Australian Outback. That caused fans to have wishful thinking that the show’s season 2 final four member Elisabeth Hasselbeck could be returning for Survivor 50.

He continued that female contestants from Palau, China and Panama also made the cut, as well as a woman from Survivor: Healers vs. Heroes vs. Hustlers. A man and a woman from Survivor: David vs. Goliath could be in the mix, as well as a woman from Survivor 45 and a man from Survivor 46.

Redmond reported that he felt about 60 to 70 percent confident about two men from Cook Islands appearing on Survivor 50, as well as a man from Survivor 42 and a woman from Survivor 48 being part of the cast, but that there was still some debate going on about their participation.

The latter made some fans speculate that Sai Hughley would be returning for Survivor 50 after playing a tough game in Survivor 48 but getting eliminated just before the jury formed.

The most famous contestant in the show’s history passed on the opportunity to get in the milestone game.

“No, you’re not gonna see me out there,” Parvati told TV Insider on March 21, 2025, saying she was looking toward a career in “creative development.”

However, the Survivor legend still had competition on the brain, as she was announced as a contestant on the upcoming season of Survivor: Australia vs. the World on April 13, 2025.

Parvati famously competed on Survivor: Cook Islands, won season 16’s competition in Micronesia, finished as the runner-up in Heroes vs. Villains and last competed in season 40.

Which Other ‘Survivor’ Alums Aren’t Appearing in ‘Survivor 50’?

Survivor: Cagayan and Survivor: Cambodia alum Spencer Bledsoe announced via X on March 27, 2025, “Who else just got cut from season 50?” He jokingly added, “After being misled into feeling like a lock and then kept on ice since August, I get everyone voicing their rejection. We have lives, @JeffProbst.”

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X contestant Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa also let fans know she too had been in the running for Survivor 50 but had been cut in a March 28, 2025, video she shared to X.

Survivor: Redemption Island castaway Natalie Tenerelli revealed on March 29, 2025, that she had been contacted in September 2024 to appear on Survivor 50, saying it was her “fourth or fifth time” being asked back.

Natalie said she was torn as her baby would be 5 months old at the time of filming but decided to go ahead with casting. “And then, yesterday, I got another call — turns out, the choice wasn’t mine after all. Life had other plans (plot twist!),” she shared in the Instagram post about how she was cut from the Survivor 50 casting process.

Survivor 47’s Rome Cooney hinted he’d been cut from the running for Survivor 50, despite having the type of massive personality that would have added drama to the show. “Welp Woulda Been Fun,” he wrote in an Instagram Story around the same time other former cast members were revealing they’d been cut.

Benjamin “Coach” Wade — a fan favorite who competed on Survivor: Tocantins, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains and Survivor: South Pacific — let it be known he didn’t plan to come back to Survivor 50. Coach shared an Instagram video on March 29, 2025, showing some of his highlights on the show as the words, “Stop asking I’m retired” flashed across the screen, along with “#Survivor50.”
