‘Sister Wives’ Stars Kody Brown, Robyn Brown and More Reveal Their New Year’s Resolutions

It’s that time of year again! Some of the cast members from Sister Wives revealed their New Year’s resolutions in a recent clip from TLC.

“I think my New Year’s resolution would be to clean the garage,” Robyn Brown said with a laugh in a video posted via Instagram on Wednesday, January 1.

Kody Brown opened up about his process for coming up with resolutions, but explained that he doesn’t limit creating his goals to just New Year’s Day.

“Every single New Year, every Christmas and every birthday, I think about five years in the future,” the dad of 18 said. “[It’s] kind of like off the theme of A Christmas Carol with Ebenezer Scrooge. His future made him change his ways. If I don’t like who I am five years in the future, there’s something I’ve got to change.”

Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Meri Brown all confessed that they don’t make New Year’s resolutions.

“I never make New Year’s resolutions,” Meri, 53, told the camera. “Why bother when I’m not going to keep them anyway? I’ll just make little goals throughout the year.”

Janelle, 55, added, “I don’t make New Year’s resolutions because I’m always trying to set goals throughout the year.”

While Christine, 52, said that she doesn’t make New Year’s resolutions, she does make birthday resolutions.

“I’m not a New Year’s resolution person. I’m a birthday resolution person,” the mom of six explained. “If it’s a New Year’s resolution, I’m going to break it because I’m not done eating junk food yet.”

Plenty of fans raved over how happy Christine, Meri and Janelle looked, and some pointed out how they believed it was because they had ended their marriages to Kody, 55. However, Kody’s resolutions didn’t land well with several commenters.

“Meri has this inner glow, so beautiful, so at peace. Also… the lack of self-knowledge of baldilocks is shocking!! He is so out of it! Not changing man, you’re worsening!!” wrote one person.

Another Instagram user added, “Omg Kody as if. You lost a son, and you still haven’t worked on relationships with the rest of your kids. If that won’t wake you up nothing will!”

A third wrote, “Kody thinks about how he could be a better person and his conclusion is ‘My kids are a bunch of jerks!’”

Kody is estranged from several of his children, and Meri recently spoke about the situation, which includes her and Kody’s only child, Leon Brown.

“I know that [Kody and Leon] talk on occasion, but I know that Kody has been struggling with many of his relationships with his kids, and I hope that they can figure that out,” Meri said during an interview with Us Weekly published on December 11, 2024. “I think there’s got to be a lot of conversations and healing to make that happen.”

She continued, “I think any healing takes time and it takes both parties, so that’s going to be something he’s going to have to deal with on an individual basis with anybody he wants to heal relationships.”
