Sister Wives’ Janelle Recalls Kody Calling Robyn a ‘Diesel Jeans Model’ and ‘Everything I Want’

Sister Wives star Janelle Brown recalled how Kody Brown gushed over Robyn Brown as a “model” after the pair met.

“Kody has said, ‘Well, all of a sudden, I met Robyn and she’s this Diesel jeans model and she’s everything I want,’” Janelle, 55, claimed during the Sunday, April 27, episode of the TLC show.

“And I’m thinking, ‘That’s rich, dude,’” Janelle added, noting how Robyn, 46, wasn’t around for the polygamous family’s leaner years.

“We went through all the starving years when I was holding my bra together with diaper pins,” she explained. “We were broke as broke, and we went through all your crazy, ‘Let’s move here, let’s move there.’”

“We’ve been through all of this with you, and she’s not been through that with you. So that’s great. You just take your little Diesel jeans model and just go live happily ever after,” Janelle snarked.

Robyn was the last of Kody’s four wives whom he added to his polygamous marriage. He legally married first wife Meri Brown in 1990. Kody and Janelle had a spiritual marriage in 1993, and Christine Woolley (née Brown) joined the family in 1994, also via a spiritual marriage.

Kody met Robyn in 2009 when he and Meri, 54, attended a gathering hosted by her cousin. The pair began courting and their romance was highlighted in season 1 of Sister Wives. Kody and Robyn married in a gorgeous formal 2010 wedding, although it was only spiritual at the time.

In 2014, Kody and Meri divorced so that he and Robyn could legally marry, making him able to adopt her three children from her previous marriage to David Jessop: Dayton, 25, Aurora, 23, and Breanna, 21. Kody and Robyn have two biological children: Solomon, 13, and Ariella, 9.

Kody shares six children with Christine, 53, and five children with Janelle, as son Robert Garrison Brown tragically died by suicide in March 2024. Kody and Meri have one child together.

Over the years, Meri, Janelle and Christine became wary of how Kody seemingly gave Robyn preferential treatment.

Janelle explained how Kody seemed to spend far more time with Robyn after the family moved from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2018.

“When he moved to Flagstaff, Kody found it a lot easier to be away,” she claimed on the September 29, 2024, episode of Sister Wives. “A couple of times I had to remind him that he needed to come to my house.”

The Taeda Farms cofounder said that when Kody would try to get out of it by saying he was tired, she replied, “I’m really tired. I’m like, ‘Well, you can rest at my house just as much as you can rest at Robyn’s house.'”

Kody’s multiple marriages began breaking down in November 2021, when Christine announced the duo had split.

In Touch exclusively reported in December 2022 that Janelle “outgrew” her spiritual marriage with Kody and left him. The former couple confirmed their breakup during the Sister Wives: One on One special.

Meri also confirmed her split from Kody during the Sister Wives: One on One special, which aired in January 2023.
