After Katherine Heigl’s dramatic departure from “Grey’s Anatomy,” the medical drama’s showrunner, Shonda Rhimes, has instituted a new policy on the set of her shows — “No a–holes.”

The mind behind three current television hits — including “Grey’s,” fan-favorite “Scandal” and newcomer “How to Get Away With Murder” — attributes her success on the political drama to her “no a–holes policy.”

“There are no Heigls in this situation,” Shonda told The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t put up with bullsh-t or nasty people. I don’t have time for it.”

Historically speaking, tensions have been high between the actress and the show’s creative mind since 2008, when Katherine famously opted out of the Emmy race — claiming the material she was given was not good enough to warrant an award or even a nomination.

In 2012 — nearly four years after the incident, and two years after Katherine’s on-screen persona, Izzie, left Seattle Grace for good — Shonda spoke to Oprah about the ordeal.

“On some level it stung and on some level I was not surprised,” she said. “When people show you who they are, believe them. I carry that with me a lot. It has served me well.”
