General Hospital star Steve Burton accused his ex-wife, Sheree Burton, of having issues with his new wife, and submitted alleged texts from her to back up his claim in court, In Touch can exclusively report.

On May 5, Steve, 54, filed an emotional declaration as part of his custody battle with Sheree. The soap star filed for divorce from Sheree in 2022 following 23 years of marriage.

The exes hashed out a settlement in December 2023. They agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their three children, two adult children and one minor named Brooklyn.

As In Touch first reported, Steve has accused Sheree of making it difficult to see Brooklyn despite them sharing custody. He said after their divorce, she persuaded him to move from California to Tennessee, only for her to move back to California.

He said he then moved back to California in March to make sure he was close to his kids.

Despite his move, Steve accused Sheree of refusing to work with him on a custody schedule. Steve slammed Sheree in court documents.

He wrote, “Sheree has seemingly forgotten how our family ended up in this situation. It was Sheree who had an extramarital affair, became pregnant with another man’s child and immediately moved him into her home after our separation, without informing me she would be doing so.”

He said this “sudden change in family dynamics had to be incredibly confusing and traumatizing” for their minor daughter, who was 7 at the time.

Steve also accused Sheree of gatekeeping his custodial time with their daughter when his relationship with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom, began. The two started dating in early 2024 and wed on May 17.

The actor said, “Early on in my relationship with Michelle, Sheree began to refuse to call Michelle by her name and instead referred to her as ‘the girl’ in an effort to downplay her role in my life. In one text message exchange, Sheree stated, in part, as follows, ‘Michelle is not your family or our kids’ family lol. She is your girlfriend.”

Steve told the court, “Sheree made it clear to me that she did not want Brooklyn to spend time with me if Michelle or her daughters were present.”

He added, “When Michelle and her daughters were in town Sheree would make it difficult for me to exercise custodial time with Brooklyn when I was in California. All of my requests were met with resistance. Sheree would tell me my requested time did not work or they were busy, despite providing her with ample notice.”

Steve said Sheree communicated to him on April 8 that she was not okay with Michelle picking up Brooklyn from school.

“I am not ok with Michelle picking Brooklyn up from school tomorrow. If you’re not going to see Brooklyn then I will be picking her up,” Sheree wrote in the alleged text.

In the alleged exchange, Steve replied, “Why is that a problem?”

“Dictating who can pick Brooklyn up for my custodial time and only allowing me to exercise custody if I personally pick her up is highly unreasonably and demonstrated the control Sheree is attempting to assume during my custodial time,” Steve wrote in his declaration.

As In Touch first reported, Sheree denied all of Steve’s claim she was refusing to work on a custody schedule.

She accused him of harassing her when he can’t reach Brooklyn.

She said, “In the past few months, [Steve] has started to message me and accuse me of parental alienation if he cannot get ahold of Brooklyn.”

She said, “His messages are almost daily and are harassing.”

Steve’s lawyer, Sarah C. Clark, told In Touch, “Steve maintains that Sheree’s allegations are categorically false. He has, and will continue to, act in the best interests of the parties’ daughter, Brooklyn, which includes ensuring there is frequent and continuing contact with both parents. On May 12, 2025, the Court heard the evidence loud and clear and granted Steve additional custodial time with Brooklyn that Sheree was unwilling to provide.

A judge has yet to rule on the matter.
