As the search for Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, enters its third week, more information related to her disappearance is coming to light.
On Monday, February 16, TMZ reported that they received another email from the person who claims they have information regarding the person (or people) who abducted Nancy.
The email, which is yet again demanding bitcoin in exchange for information, said, “I know what I saw 5 days ago south of the border and I was told to shut up so I know who he is and that was definitely Nancy with them.”
TMZ is requesting that the person writing these emails send the outlet information regarding Nancy’s potential abductors, and if it leads to something, the public will know that they are responsible for helping crack the case and should be given the FBI’s reward money.
The FBI recently upped their reward to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy “and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
Over the weekend, other new details in the case emerged, including that a DNA sample has been obtained from a glove found near Nancy’s Arizona home that appears to match the pair worn by the individual in previously released camera footage.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos also told CBS News that investigators believe the clothing and face mask worn by the potential abductor seen in the video were purchased at Walmart.
However, Sheriff Nanos also admitted that authorities remain puzzled when it comes to a motive. He told the Daily Mail, “The motivation for it is where we get stuck, right?”
“Is it for money? I mean, we had the one demand where they asked for money,” he pointed out. “But is it really for money, or is it for revenge for something?”
