It’s been a little over two years since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got divorced, but she’s not done throwing shade at her ex-husband! The country music star recently kicked off her Livin’ Like Hippies tour, and of course, she’s including some fan-favorite hits in her set list, like the song “Little Red Wagon” — which references the years she spent married to Blake. During a recent concert, she made an impromptu update to the lyrics.
In footage shot by a fan from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC, last week, Miranda served up the tune with an extra side of sass. The original lyrics are: “Oh, you only love me for my big sunglasses / And my Tony Lomas / I live in Oklahoma,” but in the live version, Miranda changed the “I live in Oklahoma” line to “I got the hell out of Oklahoma.”
The 34-year-old is originally from Texas, but she moved to Blake’s home state of Oklahoma when they tied the knot in 2011. She relocated to Nashville after their split in 2015. Since their breakup, her ex-hubby has remained in Oklahoma, where he’s been spotted around town with girlfriend Gwen Stefani.
Even though she took a dig at Blake, Miranda is in a happy relationship with fellow musician Anderson East — and he along with her music helped heal the pain and heartbreak she was experiencing. Last summer, she revealed that a lot of the songs on her 2016 album, The Weight of These Wings, were about the breakdown of her marriage.
“If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it’s all on there,” she told Billboard. “There’s no mystery anymore — take from it what you will.”
