‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Maci Bookout Says She Doesn’t Have a Relationship With Ryan or His Wife, Mackenzie

This is a little awkward. Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout doesn’t have contact with her ex, Ryan Edwards, and doesn’t really speak to his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, either, according to Us Weekly. She said of Mackenzie, 22, “We don’t really have a relationship. It’s not negative. It’s not a bad relationship, there’s just really not one.” Maci, 27, hasn’t had any contact with Ryan, 31, since he was released from jail in April, either.

“I haven’t seen him or anything,” Maci said of Ryan. “[He] hasn’t had the chance to impact [me] or have an impact yet.” Since the Teen Mom franchise star has a two-year restraining order against her ex — which was only granted in May 2018 — that’s not exactly a huge shocker.

Maci shares a 10-year-old son, Bentley, with Ryan. She also has a daughter — Jayde, 3 — and younger son, Maverick, 2, with husband Taylor McKinney. Meanwhile, Mackenzie has a son named Hudson, 4, from a previous relationship, and Jagger, 3 months, with Ryan. Us Weekly pointed out that the mamas posed together for a holiday card, so it’s a little weird that they don’t seem to have much interaction.

Maci did tell the outlet that when it comes to Ryan’s criminal concerns, Bentley is aware of everything going on with him. “Even if people don’t talk about us, like, we’re on TV at home, kids always tell the truth,” the reality star revealed. “People are talking about it at home. So I definitely don’t want him going to school and some kid saying, ‘Oh so-and-so told me’ or ‘my mom showed me’ or ‘I saw this.’” Seems fair.

She added, “I think just from the standpoint of him being able to process, comprehend and understand, and get through it in a healthy manner, I think he needs to know what’s going on.” Maci noted that she tries to “reinforce that he does have love around him and support around him,” and really, that’s what truly matters when it comes to kids, anyway.
