Lil Wayne asked that his wealth not be talked about in front of the jury in an upcoming trial where he stands accused of assaulting his personal assistant, In Touch can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Wayne, 42, pleaded with an L.A. judge to keep evidence concerning his financial condition, including his net worth, from being referenced in court.

Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter) said the information about his wealth should only be mentioned if a jury finds him liable for the alleged assault. A judge has yet to rule on the request.

The trial is scheduled for February 3, 2025. Back in 2022, the musician’s ex-assistant Andrew Williams sued Wayne, Young Money Entertainment and Signature Flight Support.

Andrew’s suit demanded unspecified damages for alleged assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful termination and negligence.

In his lawsuit, Andrew claimed he was on a private jet with the rapper on June 20, 2022. He said Wayne and the pilot had an argument before takeoff. Andrew said he tried to stop the argument from getting physical, which he claimed upset Wayne.

He said Wayne punched him in the face with a closed fist.

Andrew’s lawyer wrote in the complaint, “The combination of a closed fist and the numerous rings and large jewelry on the hands of [Wayne] caused great harm to [Andrew].” Andrew said he left the jet and “sough medical attention at a local urgent care.”

“The only official correspondence delivered to [Andrew] on the behalf of [Wayne] since the incident was a request to return a company backpack and a Bluetooth speaker,” the suit read.

His lawsuit read, “As an actual and proximate result of [Wayne’s] assault and misconduct, [Andrew] has and continues to be damaged emotionally and physically, incurred general damages and special damages including incurring medical expenses, in amounts to be proven at trial.”

Andrew also asked the court to award him punitive damages in the case.

Wayne denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He argued that Andrew was not harmed by him. He also said some of his claims were barred by the statute of limitations.

In addition, Wayne argued that he acted in self-defense. The rapper also denied retaliation against Andrew following the alleged incident.

He said that his actions were “legitimate, [made in] good faith, justified, nondiscriminatory and/or non-retaliatory business reasons.”

Wayne asked the court to throw out the entire case and award him fees.

As In Touch first reported, Wayne is facing a separate lawsuit filed by his former bodyguard Carlos Christian. Carlos accused Wayne of punching him on December 2, 2021, while holding a semiautomatic rifle.

Carlos said Wayne accused him of taking pictures before the alleged assault. He said the rapper said, “Why the f–k you takin’ pictures, bitch a-s n–ga?”

Carlos admitted he was armed but said he never drew his sidearm from his holster, “which was hidden beneath a loose sweater, and indeed backed up with [his] hands up and never even so much as reached for his firearm, even when [Wayne] emerged from the main house of the property wielding a semiautomatic rifle.”

Wayne denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
