So much for being one big, happy family. We already knew that there was drama for the Sister Wives crew — it’s hard not to have any when you have four wives sharing one husband, especially when one of them has to get divorced so another one of them can tie the knot. And with Meri Brown‘s catfish scandal and her problems with the other wives, things got even more tense. But it seemed that they were all sticking together when Kody Brown decided to relocate his family from Nevada to Arizona. As it turns out, though, some family members chose to stay behind.

Though there were rumors that Meri was choosing to leave the family, it’s actually her daughter that moved away. And some of the other adult kids also live in another state from their parents, neglecting to follow them to their new home. According to her Instagram, Mariah Brown and her girlfriend, Audrey Kriss, actually live in Illinois, halfway across the country. Though she originally made the move from Utah to Arizona with the rest of the Browns, she swapped the city out for Chicago in August 2018.

She’s not the only one that’s off on her own. Aspyn Brown Thompson — one of Christine Brown‘s daughters, if you don’t know your Sister Wives family tree that well — and her husband stayed behind in the Las Vegas area after the rest of her family left. So did Logan Brown, one of Janelle Brown‘s sons. Both are students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and they’re still working on their degrees. Nevada is actually kind of a hot spot for the Brown kids, likely because they moved with their parents and then made their own homes there. Maddie Brown Bush still lives in the state with her husband and son, too.

Christine’s daughter Mykelti Brown Padron and her husband had started their lives in Utah in 2017, and stayed where they’d started to put roots down. Though she visited some of her family members for the holidays, it doesn’t seem like she’s going somewhere anytime soon. In July, Paedon Brown, Christine’s only son, revealed that he’d also moved out, heading out on his own and landing in St. George, UT. Robert Garrison Brown, one of Janelle’s son, hasn’t settled anywhere yet — he’s been traveling all over, visiting different states and countries after graduating from basic training back in 2016.

Considering that the kids are all growing up and starting families of their own, it’s not a surprise that they’d end up in different states from where their parents live. But knowing how close their family used to be with their cul-de-sac houses, we can’t help but wonder how they all manage.
