Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) revealed she was in Los Angeles when she appeared on her sister Jinger Vuolo’s podcast on February 26, but it appears as though she and her family might be living in California, for at least a little while.

“Morning in my life while staying in California,” Joy, 27, wrote at the top of an Instagram Reel that she shared on March 1.

For the past few weeks, Joy has been posting short videos and photos of her life as they stay in California. However, neither she or her husband, Austin Forsyth, have officially revealed if they’re setting up shop there for good.

Fans speculated that the 19 Kids and Counting alum was temporarily living in the Golden State due to Austin’s job.

“Austin is working out there so they are staying for an extended time,” wrote one Instagram user in the comments section.

Another person added, “Jinger and Jeremy [Vuolo] have a podcast you can find on YouTube. They had Joy and Austin on recently and mentioned Austin is doing some work out there for now.”

It wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if Joy-Anna and Austin did officially make the move to California, though. She previously discussed a move out west to be closer to Jinger, 31, and Jeremy, 37.

“Actually, so it’s funny because when we went and visited Jinger and Jeremy, they were joking like, ‘Jeremy is going to try and convince Austin that L.A. is not so bad of a place to live,’” Joy-Anna said during a Q&A shared with her fans on January 27, 2024. “This is the first trip, not that we’re ever gonna move there probably, but this is the first time where I was like, ‘I mean I could see us living here if that’s where God moved us.’ It was so good to be with her and just have some quality time and catch up on life, but I don’t know if we would ever actually move there.”

However, the mom of three said that while Austin felt similarly to Joy-Anna, he didn’t really see it ever being a permanent move.

She continued, “I don’t think we’d ever move out there but they have such a great community and everybody in their neighborhood is super sweet. And we really enjoyed our trip. We’ll enjoy vacations out there but I don’t think we’ll ever actually move.”

Joy-Anna also revealed that the trip out west to visit her sister and brother-in-law had become a tradition.

“We visit Jinger and Jeremy like in January, February, March [every year],” she explained at the time. “It just kind of happened that way, like our schedule is more open in the winter so we go visit them. I guess it’s just become tradition.”

Jinger would totally be on board for Joy-Anna and her family to move to California. In January 2024, the soon-to-be mom of three posted a vlog to her YouTube channel titled, “When Will Joy Move to California?!”

“Joy and Austin brought their kids to town for a visit and it has us wishing they’d just move to LA so we could adventure for good!” Jinger captioned the video.
