Josh Duggar’s Thanksgiving Dinner Menu in Prison Revealed: Glazed Ham, Roast Turkey and More

Josh Duggar will be spending his third Thanksgiving behind bars and In Touch can exclusively reveal what’s on the dinner menu for the convicted sex offender.

The Federal Correctional Institution Seagoville in Dallas, Texas, will be offering the inmates roasted turkey and glazed ham for the entrée. Vegetarians will have the option of a veggie lasagna that consists of dirty rice, soybeans and kidney beans. Josh, 36, will also have an array of side dishes, including cornbread dressing with turkey gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and dinner rolls. As for dessert, the inmates will be given assorted pies.

Josh is currently serving a 151-month prison sentence after he was arrested for child pornography charges in April 2021.

“Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019,” according to a press release shared by the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Arkansas at the time.

Prosecutors originally asked for a 20-year prison sentence due to his “prior sexual exploitation of multiple minors” and “the extraordinary efforts Duggar took to obtain and view child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), the nature of the CSAM he obtained and viewed, his efforts to conceal his criminal conduct.”

His trial took place in December 2021 and after nine days, he was found guilty of one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

However, during his sentencing trail in May 2022, the second charge was dismissed. His release date is set for October 2032.

In October 2022, the legal team representing Josh requested a new trial. During a court hearing in February 2023, Justin Gelfand, one of Josh’s attorneys, alleged that federal agents seized Josh’s phone when he attempted to contact his attorney during a raid at his workplace more than a year before his arrest, which resulted in Josh talking to the agents without legal counsel present.

Ten months later, the court upheld their decision to convict the former reality star and terminated the appeal via a mandate on October 5, 2023, according to court documents obtained by In Touch.

Two months later, Josh filed a petition to the Supreme Court of the United States to appeal the case. The former 19 Kids and Counting star filed the paperwork to Brett Kavanaugh, an associate justice on the Supreme Court.

“Mr. Duggar’s case raises an important question, inter alia, concerning a criminal defendant’s constitutional right to present a complete defense,” Josh’s legal team wrote in the letter obtained by In Touch.

The lawyers stated that they didn’t believe they were given “the time necessary to adequately prepare the petition” and his defense would “benefit” from more time and consultation with him. The petition was ultimately denied in June.

Before Josh was arrested on child pornography charges, he had confessed to his father, Jim Bob Duggar, that he had five underaged girls when he was just 15 years old. Two of the victims were his sisters, Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) and Jessa Seewald (née Duggar). Instead of going to the authorities with the news, Jim Bob, 59, opted to send Josh to a Christian-based rehab center after consulting the elders of his church.
