Jeremy and Audrey Roloff Head Out for Date Night After ‘Rough Few Weeks’

They may have had a “rough few weeks,” but Audrey and Jeremy Roloff are putting in the time and effort to make their marriage work. After confessing in a recent “vulnerable” Instagram post that “the last few weeks have been hard on [her] marriage,” Auj revealed that she and her hubby had carved out a few hours just for them. Instead of staying home, they made a point of going out just the two of them on Thursday, June 27, so that they could have a date night as a couple. And, of course, they had to go with a classic date night activity — seeing a movie.

“We’re doing something we haven’t done in a lonnnnng time,” Jeremy, 29, captioned his Story on Instagram. “Going to the movies.” In the clip, he explained, “I think it’s been over two years. Audrey thinks it’s been a little bit shorter. … But we’re going to go to the movie theater. We’re going to see a movie. Haven’t done that in a very long time, so [I] guess we’re a little excited.” In her own Instagram Story video, Audrey, 27, revealed that they were seeing the new Aladdin, adding, “We have the entire movie theater to ourselves … a little private showing.”

“Went to the movies for the first time in at least a year and a half last night!” Auj continued the next morning. “Had the theater to ourselves. … Also, when did they put these level-up seats in?! Wow.” We’re so glad that the couple got some quality time together. It seems like they needed it after fighting through some serious communication issues. “Let’s just say there has been a lot of ‘heated fellowship,’ morning hugs missed, and date nights postponed,” the redheaded reality star shared two days earlier.

In a post of his own, her husband agreed. “Communication and expressing my emotions doesn’t come very easily [to me],” the former Little People, Big World star admitted. “One of the reasons I think we’ve been having a hard time (besides being overworked) is that we got out of our weekly habit of communicating and expressing our thoughts. … We’re going to continue processing the speed in which we run and take a hard look at the lifestyle we want and what we’re doing to live it.” It seems like reinstating date night was one of the first things on the to-do list.
