Starting her next chapter! Jennifer Lopez has reportedly purchased an $18 million house two months after finalizing her divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck.

The Hustlers actress, 55, bought a mansion near Los Angeles, according to property records obtained by People on Tuesday, March 25.

J. Lo’s big purchase comes just over two months after she and Ben, 52, finalized their split on January 6. The “Let’s Get Loud” singer initially filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, the second anniversary of their second wedding in Georgia, In Touch confirmed at the time. She listed their date of separation as April 26, 2024, on the court paperwork.

Three months prior to the divorce filing, In Touch exclusively reported that the former couple was “headed for a divorce” and that Ben had already moved out of their $60 million Beverly Hills mansion. The Good Will Hunting star and the “Jenny From the Block” hitmaker publicly listed the abode, which features 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, for sale for $68 million in July 2024, but it has yet to be purchased by someone new as of publication.

Ben moved on to a $20.5 million home in the Pacific Palisades in August 2024, with a source exclusively telling In Touch at the time that the bachelor pad was “more his style” than the mansion he shared with J. Lo.

“It’s more modest, way smaller and less expensive than the $60 million Beverly Hills mansion they purchased together and are trying to sell off,” the insider said.

Meanwhile, J. Lo had been house hunting since spring 2024 and was spotted out on a few occasions looking at homes in Beverly Hills, Brentwood and other L.A. neighborhoods. Amid her search, a source exclusively told In Touch in December 2024 that the Greatest Love Story Never Told star was itching to escape the home she once shared with Ben.

“She can’t wait to get the hell out of the house when she can and assumed it would have happened by now and someone would have snapped it up, especially after the renovations and personal touches she added, but nothing’s happened,” the insider said. “Of course, she’s been told it’s only a select group of buyers who would be interested and have that kind of money, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating being there.”

The source added that J. Lo felt “trapped” in the house and surrounded by the “bad memories” of her ex, whom she reunited with in 2021 and tied the knot with in 2022 after they were previously engaged from 2002 to 2004.

While news broke of J. Lo purchasing her new home on Tuesday, Ben spoke out for the first time about their breakup, explaining in an interview with GQ that there was “no scandal” surrounding their split.

“No soap opera, no intrigue. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no, ‘This is what happened.’ It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do,” he said, adding that he has “nothing but respect” for J. Lo.

The Grammy nominee previously broke her silence on the split in a conversation with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine in October 2024.

“I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, ‘That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like,’” J. Lo said. “And then I thought, ‘No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.’”
