The reality star made her relationship with David public back in 2015. After tying the knot in September 2017, the couple’s relationship hit a major setback when David was fired by MTV after a series of homophobic tweets in 2018.
Jenelle and David have since been the subject of other controversies, including a 2019 incident where David shot and killed the family’s dog after it nipped at their toddler. Years later, in February 2024, Jenelle filed to legally separate from David after a rough year, citing his “substance abuse,” “erratic” behavior and refusal to work as the reasons.
