Jay Manuel and Pamela Chavez, the stars of TLC’s reality show Jay & Pamela, recently joked about their sex life and made sure fans knew that it was far from tame.

“No vanilla sex for us,” Jay, 28, told the producers in a clip shared by TLC via Instagram on April 5.

Pamela, 30, clarified, “Vanilla with some sprinkles.”

The reality stars laughed about a particular moment as Jay teased, “Do you recall I had to take medication after we f–ked?”

Pamela added that she felt “so bad,” because their roll in the hay led to Jay injuring his back.

The couple has been very candid about their sex life on Jay & Pamela and this wasn’t the first time they detailed what their time in bed looked like. On March 15, a producer  asked “how sex worked for them” since they were both diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta type 3 (OI), otherwise known as brittle bone disease, at a young age.

“Do you have to be extra careful?” the producer wondered.

Jay replied, “Careful isn’t even in the room with us when we’re having sex. I thought it would be. I thought we were going to be cautious when having sex, but we just take a risk. Risk it for a biscuit.”

Those risks have led to some minor injuries, and Pamela teased her fiancé by saying, “And then the next day, you’re like, ‘My back hurts.”

During the April 1 episode of Jay & Pamela, they discussed how people often think their medical condition might tamper their sexual escapades.

“Just because we’re disabled, does not mean we don’t have a sex life,” Pamela said during a one-on-one interview, as Jay joked that sex was how he planned to “fix her scoliosis.”

However, Jay and Pamela noticed that other disabled couples weren’t as knowledgeable about sex and revealed that their own parents never gave them the stereotypical sex talk most people get as young adults. This resulted in them researching several aspects on their own.

“Before they knew you were trans, my mom was worried about me getting pregnant,” Pamela admitted to Jay. “No for real, like she was like, ‘Like y’all moving in together, and y’all not married,’ and she’s like, ‘Things can happen.’”

Jay then quipped, “I can’t be in the Olympics because I don’t got no swimmers.”

The couple has attempted to help educate other people with disabilities about sex by sharing their own experiences and the episode featured Jay and Pamela speaking at a conference. Jay confessed he was “nervous” and worried he might “mess up,” but Pamela assured him he didn’t.

Along with being open about his and Pamela’s intimacy, Jay has also been forward about his journey as a transgender man.

“Something a lot of people don’t know about me is I am a transgender man. Once I started to realize that I was actually a guy, was probably somewhere in high school,” he explained in the Jay & Pamela season 1 premiere. “I just didn’t have the words to articulate how I felt. I’ve been out to my family for over five years now and I’m just really grateful that I have, you know, a great partner and my parents are accepting off the bat.”
