Jameela Jamil Says She Isn’t ‘Canceling’ the Kardashians Over Weight Loss Products: ‘I’m Reprimanding Them’

She may be passionate, but she’s not malicious! Jameela Jamil is very vocal about her issues with the Kardashians promoting weight loss products and denying plastic surgery, however, she’s complete against “cancel” culture. “They’re selling products that they’re not announcing the side effects of on their posts,” The Good Place actress, 33, told Charlamagne tha God during a recent interview released by The Hollywood Reporter.

“They’re selling products with bold claims of abilities with weight loss and aesthetic differences. They’re contributing their aesthetic that is down to a trainer, a chef, a dietician, photoshop and surgery to a powder you buy over the internet,” she continued. “They don’t drink them, I don’t know if these people actually take these products. They definitely can’t know what’s in them or you would never recommend that to a 13-year-old.”

In the past, Jameela has put the famous family — specifically Khloé Kardashian — on blast for posting about these products on social media and while Koko seemingly removed one of the advertisements from her Instagram after the backlash, they haven’t completely ceased weight loss promotions.

That said, Jameela isn’t looking to exact revenge on the Kardashians or any celebrity that works with these companies, for that matter. “I don’t cancel the Kardashians or Iggy Azalea or Cardi B. I’m not canceling them, I’m reprimanding them,” she clarified. “It’s fine to call someone out because you’re offering them the opportunity of changing and doing better.”

As for A-listers who deny going under the knife, Jameela explained that she has no problem with the act of undergoing cosmetic procedures, so long as you’re open about it. “I think you can have plastic surgery, but if you’re in the public eye you have to own up to it,” she said.

“Do not dare have plastic surgery or alter your appearance or photoshop your images without announcing it because then you are forcing other people to try and live up to an expectation that you yourself are not able to obtain.” Well said, Jameela! At the end of the day, her message is one of positivity and self-love. Thankfully, the U.K. native was able to spread awareness without attacking anyone. Here’s hoping that other women in Hollywood are open to her suggestions.
