How Did Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter Meet? Their Friendship Vacay Is Total Goals

Hey, Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter, next time you two are planning to jet off to Italy, can we come? The two surprising celeb friends made waves as they headed out for a relaxing vacation in Europe not long after The Hills: New Beginnings star called it quits with ex Brody Jenner. While they party it up at sea, though, we can’t help but wonder just how these two became close. Did they meet as neighbors in Malibu or did they hit it off after Kaitlynn was a guest on Brandi Cyrus‘ podcast? Here’s what we know so far.

The reality star was part of the former Disney Channel darling‘s posse as she headed off to headline at the Sunny Hill Festival in Kosovo in early August. While Miley, 26, took the stage, Kaitlynn, 30, could be found dancing it up in the crowd. A few days later, they headed off to Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy, where they’ve been spotted taking in the sights and enjoying time out on the water. “Girls Trip, 🇮🇹” Brandi, 32, captioned a photo of the three of them.

While dancing out on a balcony, Brandi and Kaitlynn teamed up to throw a little playful shade at Miley, teasing, “Hmmm,” as they caught her taking a selfie video behind them. While out on a boat ride, all three sang along to Britney Spears‘ hit song “Baby One More Time.” Posting a photo of her, the singer and two of their guy friends, the Hills star joked, “We are Italians now,” in the region’s native language. In another, this time featuring just her and Miley, she captioned that they would “rock the boat.”

Though the Malibu cuties’ friendship seems to be new, it turns out that Kaitlynn and Brandi have been hanging out for a hot minute now. At the end of July, the newly single gal visited her friend at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. The two took photos of each other riding giant inflatables in the pool. They also recorded a podcast episode together for the Nashvillian’s show, “Your Favorite Things,” which she normally cohosts with Bachelor Nation star Wells Adams. While the Bachelor in Paradise bartender was busy, the blonde beauty stepped in to fill his spot.

It seems like Kaitlynn needed a ~G.N.O.~ (a.k.a. a girls’ night out — did you catch that Miley song reference?) after her recent split. On August 2, Brody’s rep Scott Newman confirmed to In Touch that the couple had gone their separate ways after five years together. “They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward,” Scott said. In the days since, the youngest Jenner son has been spotted partying with women in Las Vegas, Nevada. We’re glad Kaitlynn’s got a friend like Miley who can make sure she’s out and enjoying herself, too.
