A clip of Hilaria Baldwin snapping at husband Alec Baldwin multiple times has gone viral on social media and led to a wave of backlash toward the former yoga instructor.

While chatting with Extra at Planet Hollywood’s reopening in New York City on March 11, the couple discussed the future of their family’s reality TV series, The Baldwins. While Hilaria, 41, began to speak about what fans could expect to see next season, Alec, 66, chimed in, “It’s gonna be great. You’re a winner.”

However, his wife did not appreciate the interruption.

“Oh, my God. When I’m talking, you’re not talking. No. When I’m talking, you’re not talking,” she fired back, as seen in the footage shared on the outlet’s TikTok page.

The Manual Not Included author joked that Alec would have to be “cut out of the show” because of behavior like that.

Elsewhere in the interview, another one of Alec’s interjections caused Hilaria to lose her train of thought, so she accused him of “distracting” her. He said that he was only “captivated by [her] beauty,” adding, “You’re so beautiful.”

Hilaria responded, “Oh, my God, stop. You’re annoying me. Stop. It’s not cute. No, it’s distracting me.”

Fans in the comments couldn’t help but point out the awkwardness of the interview and expressed concern for the dynamic that was on display between the couple.

“She is very rude to her husband in front of everyone,” one user wrote, while another fan added, “Wow, that was a very, very bad moment right there.”

“She very disrespectful towards him,” a third person commented.

“He’s building her up and she shuts him down,” a fourth fan added.

However, some people viewed the exchange in a different light. “Am I the only one that sees this as dry, sarcastic banter? They’re both taking cute digs at each other, he even brought up Spanish to troll her lol,” one user wrote.

“Why in the world would you not feel happy for him? He’s happy ! They’re partners and he loves it!” another fan commented.

Hilaria caught wind of the backlash and responded to the drama with a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday, March 19.

The mom of seven included a voice-over of the infamous Extra interview, before cutting in and telling her followers, “And that is called … What is the word of the day,” as she turned to Alec.

“Manteruppting,” he replied.

“Manteruppting, which could be a positive, could be a negative or could it be [correctile dysfunction],” she told the camera. “The whole point is, we interrupt each other all the time.”

Alec and Hilaria began dating in August 2011 and got engaged in April 2012. The pair tied the knot in June 2012 in New York City and went on to welcome seven kids together — Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo “Edu”, 4, María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 2.

The couple announced their TLC reality series in June 2024.

“We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” Alec said in a teaser video at the time. “Home is the place we love to be most.”

The series premiered on February 23. Ahead of the first episode, Hilaria and Alec gushed to People about the secret to making their marriage work all these years.

“We’ll find time to go for dinner,” the entrepreneur explained. “It gives us a chance to reconnect, sometimes just sit in silence. It’s just like, ‘OK, ‘we’re here.’ He always said, ‘We’re married, you’re my wife, you’re the mother of my children, but you always need to be my girlfriend.'”

The 30 Rock alum chimed in, “Yeah, I just couldn’t have it any other way.”
