Gypsy Rose Blanchard Says Casey Anthony Should Not Give Legal Advice After Her TikTok Debut

Gypsy Rose Blanchard urged Casey Anthony to not share legal advice after the Florida native joined TikTok to promote her career as a legal advocate.

While talking to a TMZ reporter on Wednesday, March 5, Gypsy, 33, was asked if it was a “good idea” for Casey, 38, to share legal advice with people on social media. “No, not at all,” Gypsy said.

After insisting that Casey shouldn’t be sharing legal advice, Gypsy gave an update about if she is still working with Kim Kardashian on her prison reform initiative. She previously appeared on a July 2024 episode of The Kardashians, where Gypsy spoke to Kim, 44, about her hopes to improve the prison system.

“We haven’t spoken since the show, but it was great to meet her,” Gypsy said of Kim, adding that it was “wonderful” to talk to the reality star. However, she did not express interest in working with Kim in the future.

Both Gypsy and Casey rose to fame for their involvement in true crime stories. Gypsy served seven years in prison for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn. She was released in December 2023 and quickly embraced her status as a public figure.

Meanwhile, Casey stood trial in 2011 for the murder of her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony. Following a lengthy trial that lasted nearly two-months, Casey was acquitted after she was found not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse. However, Casey was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.

Casey had already served three years behind bars by the time her trial concluded, so she only had to spend 10 more days in prison due to her “good behavior” before she was released.

Gypsy spoke to the outlet just four days after Casey shared her plans and made her TikTok debut.

“This is my first of probably many recordings on a series that I’m starting,” Casey began in the video. “I am a legal advocate. I am a researcher. I’ve been in the legal field since 2011 and in this capacity, I feel that it’s necessary, if I’m going to continue to operate appropriately as a legal advocate, that I start to advocate for myself and also advocate for my daughter.”

She continued, “The whole point of this is for me to begin to reintroduce myself. My goal is to continue to help give a voice to people. To give people tools and resources that they can utilize, so they actually know who they can turn to.”

After noting that she set up an email for legal questions she would respond to, Casey further explained her interest in the law.

“So as a proponent for the LGBTQ community, for legal community, women’s rights, I feel that it’s important that I use this platform that was thrust upon me and now look at as a blessing, as opposed to the curse that it has been since 2008,” she said.
