Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane’s estranged wife, Rebecca Gayheart, dropped her divorce despite the case not being finalized, In Touch can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Rebecca, 53, dismissed the case on Thursday, March 7.

Eric, 52, and Rebecca both signed the document on March 6. The actress, who starred in Jawbreaker and Urban Legend, made the decision days before a scheduled hearing in the case.

As In Touch first reported, in January, Rebecca and Eric were given a “final notice” by the judge to start making steps to move the case along or risk having it thrown out.

The notice warned Rebecca and Eric that if they failed to participate at a hearing on March 20, they may be fined. The exes had been previously warned to wrap up the case or it would be dismissed.

As In Touch previously reported, Rebecca filed for divorce from Eric in February 2018. Rebecca and Eric wed on October 29, 2004, and split after 14 years of marriage.

In her filing, the actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. She asked for joint legal and physical custody of the two daughters she shares with Eric: 15-year-old Billie and 13-year-old Georgia.

Rebecca asked the court to award her spousal support. Eric responded to the divorce, agreeing with joint custody and paying spousal support. The exes shared preliminary financial information in 2019, but the case had no movement since.

Following the split, Eric spoke about the split via a statement. The actor said, “After 14 years together we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family.”

He added, “We will continue our friendship and work as a team to coparent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us.”

Around the same time, the actress also spoke about the “new normal” for the exes and their daughters.

“There’s a new normal for me and my family, as you know. And it’s taken us a little bit to get that down. Not going to lie, it hasn’t been easy. But I think what’s exciting is what’s ahead because there are so many different things that could happen now. I mean, we have so many options, and the good news is my kids are happy and healthy.”

Back in July 2024, Eric was spotted on a sushi date with Amanda Kloots. Rebecca has been seen out and about with businessman Peter Morton.

Back in January, Daily Mail reported that Eric was seen out with his 27-year-old, Priya Jain. Eric is expected to return to season 3 of Euphoria, which is currently filming with Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney expected to also return to the HBO show. Back in August 2024, Eric spoke about the potential return of the show.

“I was optimistic that it was going to come back so I’m very happy,” Eric told Variety. “I know there’s a massive appetite for it out in the marketplace. There’s a huge audience, and I love making it. I love the people I work with. I love working with Sam Levinson. I have a great time. HBO is supportive in allowing us to do whatever the f–k we want to do.”
