Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are not rushing to the altar after getting engaged on the November 2024 finale of The Golden Bachelorette.
The couple — who famously fell in love on the hit reality show — took to Instagram on Monday, February 16, and posted a joint Q&A video in which they answered a question about when they planned to tie the knot.
Together, the pair explained that they both have adult children getting married and don’t want to overshadow their big days. (Vassos, 63, shares daughters Allison and Erica, and sons Nicholas and Luke, with her late husband, John Vassos, while Chapple, 62, shares kids Taylor and Tyler with his ex-wife.)

“In 2025, Joan had a big wedding for her oldest son, Nick. And then she’s got another one getting married this year, so we’ve elected to not compete with them,” Chapple shared. “Let them have their year. So you might look for something in 2027.”
“Yeah, ’27. Hopefully, nobody else will get married, but I think you have a son who possibly could, so we’ll see!” Vassos exclaimed. “We have grown kids, and they just happen to be falling into that part of their lives too.”
“We’ll get married sometime when our kids aren’t getting married,” she added.

When it comes to moving in together, Vassos predicts they “will probably keep our houses” — she lives in Maryland while Chapple is based in Kansas — and opt for a “love shack someplace.”
The duo, who filmed the Q&A while vacationing in Punta Cana, also discussed how they manage a long-distance relationship.
Chapple noted that he and Vassos “talk every day” and “see each other a lot.”
“We kind of meet up in other places, so it’s actually been really fun doing it the way we’re doing it,” Vassos said. “I don’t think we’re ready to stop that yet. The long distance actually makes getting together really fun.”
