Farmer Wants a Wife star John Sansone got his happy ending during the season 3 finale, and he exclusively tells In Touch that life with Claire Dirette has been “great” since the cameras stopped rolling.
“We’ve had to keep everything pretty much under wraps, but production has been great in providing trips for us and providing travel expenses and stuff like that,” John, 25, says of his and Claire’s relationship. “So, we got to do cool things like go to Tulum, which was awesome. We spent a week there. We went down to Florida one time, and we’ve been having a blast.”
Claire, 24, resides in Chicago, while John calls St. Louis home, but she adds that their long-distance relationship is working at the moment.
“I have my life in Chicago, and I love it here, and I love my friends, and my family is close by. Then John has his life as well in St. Louis, he’s in law school, so we’re planning to just continue how we are, but it really isn’t that far away,” the medical sales rep explains. “It’s like four and a half hours so, we’ve been able to make it work even with not being able to be in public together. So, if anything, I just expect it to get easier for us, and I’m really excited for the future.”
The key right now, according to John, is “not putting a lot of pressure” on either of them.
“We both have a lot going on. I gotta finish law school for one, and then Claire’s doing very well with her job and making a lot of headway there,” the reality star continues. “I think that putting a lot of pressure on us with timelines, deadlines, all that nonsense is just going to probably destroy the relationship.”
Claire also offers some advice to other couples and adds, “I think communication is just so key — like being really honest with each other and also always having a plan to look forward to. So, always having something, you’ll see each other whenever and looking forward to that is kind of crucial for keeping things going when you’re long distance.”
Fans saw John introduce Claire to his siblings during the Farmer Wants a Wife finale on Thursday, May 22, and he tells In Touch that they all still “love” her.
“They’ll walk in while I’m on the phone with her and stuff and have their little mini conversations. I think they all follow each other on social media and interact through there and all that stuff,” he shares. “I think it’s just a very casual, fun relationship. Everybody gets along and I think it’ll be fun to see everybody kind of interact without the cameras this weekend at the lake.”
When John first met Claire during Farmer Wants a Wife season 3, he was initially concerned that their outlooks on life might be too different, but the two ultimately developed a genuine connection. In the end, it was her calm demeanor that won him over and led to him choosing her over Lily Ayres in the finale.
“It was her weightiness and her attitude towards life and just things like that. I think she took a very relaxed, cool headed approach to stuff, and it kind of made me feel calm when I was talking to her,” he says. “So, I think that was probably one of the biggest draws to Claire.”
