Following claims that Turning Point USA has fired multiple employees amid turmoil within the organization after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a former employee is sharing her experience.

On Thursday, February 5, Aubrey Laitsch — who, according to her LinkedIn, was with the company for four and a half years, and worked as a public relations manager — shared a nearly 13-minute video to her social media accounts and said, “I can’t ignore what I witnessed.”

In recent days, political commentator Candace Owens has blasted the company and shared leaked alleged phone and Zoom calls of Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, calling her late husband’s memorial the “event of the century.”

The new Turning Point USA CEO, 37, has been repeatedly called out by Owens, 36, for her behavior in the wake of Charlie’s death and for how she’s handled things at Turning Point before seemingly making cuts among its staff.

In Laitsch’s lengthy statement, she explained what it was like working at the organization and said she had mostly positive experiences until there was a shift in leadership around 2022 or 2023. According to her, everything truly began to crumble after the right-wing political activist was assassinated on September 10 at age 31.

“Obviously, it was an extremely traumatizing day for everyone,” Laitsch said. “I worked nonstop. My phone received hundreds of phone calls on September 10, thousands of text messages, and multiple times, I kind of got reprimanded for not being responsive enough for people.”

Laitsch claimed the “20-hour days” were “very real” for the months following Charlie’s unexpected death, and the work only continued as the organization went straight into their AmericaFest convention in the fall.

She claimed that there was “no extra compensation [and] no breaks” and felt that they were not able to “grieve as a family.”

According to Laitsch, when she was allegedly let go, she was told that one of the reasons for her termination was because an Uber driver supposedly told an unnamed Turning Point executive that she had cast the company in a negative light and said no one liked their new CEO, Erika.

Laitsch denied that she made such comments about Turning Point.

“I have a gut feeling that I was terminated from Turning Point because I am questioning the narrative of what happened to my role model and CEO, Charlie Kirk, on the day of his assassination,” she said.

Owens has also implied numerous times that there is something off about Charlie’s murder.

“What is being told to us in the mainstream media just really doesn’t add up to me, and I’m really hopeful that one day it will,” said Laitsch. “I have a lot of concerns and a lot of questions about what took place that day and the events leading up to that day. It is from my own experience that you can’t question the narrative and work at Turning Point. That is how I feel. That is how other people I’ve talked to feel. It goes against everything that Charlie ever stood for.”

Laitsch said the reason for her post is to “bring light” to how people are being allegedly treated at Turning Point USA. In the caption of her post, she wrote in part, “This video is the beginning of me telling the truth, as much as I legally can.”

Following Charlie’s assassination at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, as part of his American Comeback Tour, Laitsch shared a lengthy statement to Instagram, telling followers, “He showed me that living boldly in truth is worth more than living comfortably in silence.”
