She was making progress. Duane Chapman supported his late wife Beth Chapman’s wishes to continue working in a new teaser released for Dog’s Most Wanted. After expressing how she didn’t want to be in that “vegetated state” due to her chemotherapy regimen, Duane mentioned how staying busy with hunting down bail jumpers was seemingly helping Beth amid treatment.

“I’m not gonna sleep for 60 days like this regimen recommends,” Beth said to her husband, 66, in the clip obtained by The Blast. Duane consoled her by explaining how motivational speaker Tony Robbins once told him the value of going back to work and doing what you know best. “I’ve seen with my eyes that you are starting to eat,” the reality star told his wife. “I see every morning when you wake up … I look at your color. You have color back in the last 3 or 4 days.”

“So, I’m thinking with the chemo and this … this is working,” he continued. “I want to test to see if you’re up to this because if you’re not I got to go make us some money. Cancer is expensive.”

As fans know, Beth sadly lost her battle with cancer on June 26 and she passed away at only 51 years old. Duane confirmed the tragic news about his spouse while taking to Twitter. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii,” he wrote. “This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head Mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

Beth and Duane have an incredible love story, as they were together for 16 years before getting married in 2006, so this has been a very tough experience for him. The reality star admitted that he’s still struggling to come to terms with her death, but he’s taking it one day at a time. In recent weeks, Duane said that her family members have been watching the show to “see mom” again.

“I’m sure we’re not going to have it runnin’ 24/7,” Duane exclusively told In Touch. “But if they want to see mom, they just tune in WGN America. The show speaks for her.”

Dog’s Most Wanted premieres on Wednesday, September 4 at 9 p.m. ET on WGN.
