Christine Brown Remembers Janelle and Kody’s Late Son Garrison on 1st Death Anniversary: ‘I Miss Him’

Sister Wives star Christine Brown revealed the heartbreak she’s feeling on the one-year anniversary of Robert Garrison Brown‘s death, remembering Janelle Brown and Kody Brown‘s late son in a touching way.

“I found a video of Garrison helping me move and watched it so many times. My heart aches without him and every photo, video, memory, joke, story with him in it is infinitely more precious than ever,” Christine, 52, shared in a Wednesday, March 5, Instagram post.

She added, “Gosh, I miss him. I can’t believe he’s been dead for a year.”

Christine posted a carousel of photos including a snapshot of Garrison at her October 2023 wedding to David Woolley. Another picture showed her smiling and popping out of the top of a tank while visiting Garrison when he was serving in the Army National Guard.

Garrison committed suicide on March 5, 2024, at the age of 25. His younger brother, Gabriel Brown, found his sibling’s body in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, In Touch confirmed at the time. Garrison’s mother, Janelle, 55, had been concerned about the son she shared with Kody, 56, after receiving worrisome texts from him the night before his body was found.

The former couple — who split in December 2022 — announced their son’s death in a joint Instagram statement on March 5, 2024.

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” the duo shared. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Janelle discussed her grief on the one-year anniversary of Garrison’s death by encouraging fans to make donations to animal rescue organizations and shelters, which were causes close to her son’s heart.

“I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts. It’s been a year baby,” Janelle wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, March 5, posting a photo of Garrison holding one of his three rescue cats. “We miss you so much.”

She added, “I encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, rescue or humane society. This cause was close to Garrison’s heart — he adopted all three of his cats from shelters.” Janelle also included a suicide hotline number in her post.

Garrison was one of Janelle and Kody’s six children. He was estranged from his father at the time of his death.

Janelle now lives in North Carolina, where she’s hard at work launching her flower farm, Taeda Farms, with daughter Maddie Brush (née Brown) and son-in-law Caleb Brush. She inherited Garrison’s truck, which she plans to use in her business, recalling how she came into possession of the 2012 Toyota Tundra in an Instagram post on February 3.

“After spending a few days with the kids in Vegas I drove this old truck across the country. This is the truck Garrison bought when he came to live in Flagstaff,” she captioned a video showing the pickup truck and some of her road trip adventures. “He drove it until February of 2022 and then it became Gabe’s. Gabe is now driving a smaller car that makes more sense in Vegas. Enter the question of what to do with the truck. It’s paid off, and it has more value to me on our new farm than I could get in a trade in. Plus it makes me feel connected to my two boys, especially Garrison.”
