It’s been a tough few weeks for Teen Mom 2’s Chelsea Houska. First, her beloved pug, Darla, passed away; then, Adam Lind — the father of her 5-year-old daughter, Aubree — was arrested and thrown behind bars.
Luckily, her new boyfriend, Cole DeBoer, is totally amazing and super supportive — even when things get awkward… Like during a reported Nov. 28 run-in with her bad boy ex at a gas station!

And based on her alleged reaction, we’d say her 25-year-old beau is already helping Chelsea, 23, take steps in the right direction! An onlooker who saw it all go down says, “They all saw each other, but they didn’t interact at all. No one said hello.”
Another eyewitness adds, “Chelsea looked over and saw him, but didn’t look again!”

This is a huge step for the mother-of-one — who, in the past, has struggled with cutting ties with her toxic baby daddy (in October, the 25-year-old bad boy insisted he and Chelsea had hooked up “recently”).
While the reality starlet has come a long way in her relationship with Adam, he’s far from being out of her life completely.
After Adam was arrested on alleged domestic stalking charges — stemming from his most recent girlfriend, Brooke Beaton — Chelsea has new concerns about her daughter being left alone with her ex.

“Chelsea is very concerned by the new allegations,” a friend explains. “She no longer feels she can allow Aubree to be alone with Adam.”
Another insider says she is “re-evaluating” her custody agreement.
“Adam’s parents are good people and Aubree loves them, so there’s no reason to take her away from their home. But Chelsea will make sure they know to be with her at all times,” the source explains.
“She’s so sad for Aubree that she has a dad like Adam.”

Fortunately, there’s at least one strong, stable male presence in the kindergartener’s life.
“They are really great together,” a friend says of Chelsea and Cole. “Aubree absolutely loves him!”
