Carmen Electra insists she was still “crazy in love” with Dennis Rodman when they split — but she just couldn’t maintain his partying lifestyle.

The actress and model, 54, has been looking back at their short love affair after the pair met in 1998.

The duo then infamously got married in Las Vegas that same year, with the basketball star, now 65, filing for an annulment only nine days later. They went on to reconcile, only to call it quits after four months together in 1999.

“He was like the pied piper of the party…. We had a lot of fun together,” Electra said of the NBA’s tattooed bad boy on the Legally Goff podcast on Tuesday, May 26. “That was my favorite part of being around Dennis.”

She went on to insist he was sensitive but also “so loving, and then he’s wild and he’s drinking. I mean, I feel like the world knows who Dennis is by now.”

And that was where the problems began.

“It was just too hard to continue to keep up with him and his friends. I mean, it was constant drinking,” the Scary Movie star said. “And I just remember looking at myself in the mirror. I was at home and I didn’t recognize myself. I had bags under my eyes. My face was puffy. And I’m in my 20s, you know, and I thought like, it’s got to stop. It has to stop.”

“A friend gave me a really good book and it was like a self-help book and I started reading the book and I liked it,” the former MTV personality  explained. “So I went to the store … and I’d grab another book and I’d start sitting there and I just thought, ‘I got to get away from him because what good is going to come out of this,’ you know?”

But she has some fond memories and seemingly no major regrets more than two decades on.

“I mean, it was real love,” she insisted. “It wasn’t a made-up story. It wasn’t a publicity stunt. It was real love. And you know, it’s sad, but it had to end.”

Her comments are now more favorable than when she previously said in 2014 the marriage was “the worst” in a TV interview.

Electra later married guitarist Dave Navarro in 2003, but the pair then divorced in 2007.
