Cardi B Doesn’t Just Rap Now, She Makes Movies Too!

Forget money moves. Cardi B is all about money movies now. The "Bodak Yellow" rapper is adding actress to her resume, signing on to her first major film, OKURRR.

According to TMZ, Cardi (real name: Belcalis Alamanzar) is set to start working on the new movie in March, but there are no details on the film or how much she is getting paid. The website is speculating that the Bronx native is making major shmoney for the role, especially after having to turn down several gigs for the job — that would have made her between $100,000 to $200,000 each.

Cardi recently took to Instagram to thank for fans for the success of her latest single, "Finesse," alongside Bruno Mars. "I am having such a good motherf–king day," she said in the video clip. "I'm so happy. I'm so proud of myself. I'm so happy that 'Finesse' is No. 3 on the Hot 100. I want to thank Bruno Mars so much for giving me the opportunity."

Since leaving behind her reality show Love & Hip Hop New York, Cardi has been taking over the music scene, becoming the first solo female rapper to top the charts since Lauryn Hill in 1998. Cardi also recently surpassed Beyoncé to become the first woman with five of the top 10 hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in a single week, according to Billboard.

We expect Cardi to have the same level of success on the big screen. Last year, it was reported that the Dominican beauty had plans to become a Hollywood star. "Cardi ain’t gone ever forget where she came from and she loved Love & Hip Hop, but she’s pushing herself to be Hollywood royalty and an A-List Hollywood actress,” a source told Hollywood Life. "Cardi’s strong as nails but she gets a little loosened when people don’t take her seriously and try shade on her social media. She’s always proven everyone wrong and becoming the next Gabrielle Union or Taraji [P. Henson] or Halle [Berry] will shut her haters up and make her even that much more proud of herself.”

However, before we see Cardi at the Oscars, expect to see her at this year's Grammy Awards alongside her fiancé Offset, where they are both nominated for Best Rap Performance. Get it, girl.
