Cardi B Deletes Her Instagram and Sets Twitter to Private Amid Feud With Azealia Banks

In the midst of her feud with fellow female rapper Azealia Bank, Cardi B deleted her Instagram profile and set her Twitter account to private. Cardi's abrupt exit from social media came after her long-standing beef with Azealia came to a nasty head within the last 24 hours after Azealia called out the "I Like It" rapper during an interview on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.

During her interview, the hosts asked Azealia to explain why she called Cardi an "illiterate untalented rat," and she said it's because she felt that Cardi was perpetuating negative stereotypes of black women by being a caricature. She also accused Cardi of getting away with things that black women would not be able to get away with. "Like if my grammar was that bad, I’d be cancelled. If Nicki Minaj spelled like that, we’d be ragging on her," Azealia said.

In a series of Instagram posts and tweets, Cardi — who is currently pregnant and expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Migos rapper Offset — fired back and tried to defend herself. "A woman who constantly finds joy in belittling black women (Beyoncé, Rihanna, Skai Jackson, Remy Ma) can’t try and stand for them because it’s convenient!" Cardi wrote. "The difference between me and you, I’ve never pretended to be or represent someone I’m not!"

Azealia hit back in an Instagram comment, and shortly after their exchange, Cardi deleted her Instagram. It's unclear if she deleted or if she just deactivated it, and it's also unclear why she would delete her account after their fight but she is still active on her private Twitter where she shared a final message with fans.

"I’m tired of the bulls–t. I need to enjoy my pregnancy, family, new projects, and my partner. Listen to Invasion of Privacy," she tweeted.
