Woah! Brody Jenner Says Father Caitlyn Jenner Had ‘Better Things to Do’ Than Attend His Wedding

Looks like Brody Jenner isn’t holding back any of his family drama on this season of The Hills: New Beginnings. On the Monday, July 15, episode, Brody, 35, shared that his father Caitlyn Jenner did not attend his wedding to Kaitlynn Carter, opening up a whole web of family secrets.

“Not having my dad at the wedding, it was a bummer. Honestly, it really did hurt,” he admitted. “I would have loved to have had her there, but she had better things to do, apparently,” said the former Hills star.

Previously, the chiseled heartthrob opened up about his strained relationship with his father. Brody has a much better relationship with his mother Linda Thompson and calls her his “rock.”

Linda, 69, disclosed how she had known “for decades” about Caitlyn’s gender identity. I met your dad, married your dad, had this great happy life here in Malibu until that fateful day where Bruce said to me, ‘I want to transition,’” Linda admitted.

The mother of two shared the truth with Brody when he was already 27 years old. Although the family is accepting of Caitlyn’s transition, they have animosity towards her for being an absent parent.

“I don’t give Bruce, Caitlyn a pass for not being a father. I don’t think there’s any excuse ever to not be there for your children,” said Linda. “It’s not what you would ever do — to have a child and not call them on their birthday and be a parent to them. … I’m not excusing Caitlyn, I’m just saying it’s forgivable. Everything in life is forgivable, and it’s not even for the other person, it’s for yourself. You have to forgive, so it doesn’t eat away inside you.”

Caitlyn has yet to respond to the heart heavy episode and there is no telling if the Jenners will ever reconcile.
