Justin Baldoni released a series of alleged texts from Blake Lively to back up his claim she used her power to seize control of It Ends With Us from him, In Touch can report.

In Touch obtained the alleged text messages that Justin, 40, submitted as part of his $400 million lawsuit against the Gossip Girl star, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and the actress’ publicist, Leslie Sloane.

Justin, who directed the 2024 film starring Blake based on the book by Colleen Hoover, accused the actress of civil extortion and defamation in his complaint.

It Ends With Us started shooting in May 2023. Justin said that on set, “[Blake] continued to maintain what later appeared to be a façade of a close, caring relationship with [Justin], even as she continued to make escalating demands for creative control.” Justin said Blake expressed warm appreciation and respect during filming.

He claimed she even sent him a text message acknowledging she could be “difficult and critical of others, using the kind of language she herself would have alleged to be inappropriate.”

In his lawsuit, Justin included the alleged text in question. On May 23, 2023, Justin wrote to Blake, “I’m not going to tell you that you were amazing because you tease me for being so sentimental — but you were amazing today.”

In a alleged message, Blake responded, “Thank you. I do appreciate it. I’m just a ball buster but it means a lot to me. I care a great deal. And always want to deliver. You were terrific. I’m proud of everything we did today, but really every day.”

Justin’s lawyer noted Blake’s use of the word “ball buster” was interesting given her complaints Justin spoke inappropriately on set.

Around this time, Justin said Blake accused him and his production partner, Jamey Heath, of sexual harassment on set and making her uncomfortable. She made a list of demands she required Justin and Jamey to agree to before she returned to shoot after a brief break. Justin and Jamey denied all allegations of sexual harassment.

In his lawsuit, Justin said Blake”s “intimate comfort” continued as filming progressed even “after the alleged harassment.”

He said Blake invited him into her trailer while she was pumping and was “so close and comfortable” with him that she “freely breast-fed in front of him in during meetings.” His lawsuit noted, “[Blake] had no issue using the word ‘sexy’ herself, but apparently took note both times [Justin] said the word in her presence.”

Justin’s lawyer wrote, “Though she was loose and relaxed in her speech on set, she was increasingly stringent in the demands she imposed on the production. She rewrote her own dialogue constantly, and took it upon herself to make unilateral changes to other characters’ lines, effectively rewriting the script day by day. This pattern of domineering interference caused unending interruptions to the production process, leading to entirely unnecessary stress, chaos, and delays.”

Justin said the film took a break from shooting due to the writers and actors strikes in mid-2023. He said Blake wrote him during the break expressing excitement to return to production.

The suit continued, “Both before and during the Strikes, [Blake’s eager involvement in the production took on a more insistent and manipulative tone, as she asked for access to the ‘dailies’ and early cuts of scenes – both inappropriate and unorthodox requests. “

Dallies refers to “raw footage of what was filmed that day, including the many ‘takes’. This is not shared with the cast.”

One message on June 13, 2023, Blake allegedly wrote to Justin, “Hey would you mind giving me access to dallies? And I’m curious which takes you liked of the scenes you showed [redacted.] My manager [redacted] flew out to visit set and leaves tomorrow am. He heard all about it from Warren and I’d love to show him. I appreciate you may be too slammed right now to make this happen but maybe someone else can facilitate? Thanks so much.”

In another alleged message from Blake to Justin, dated July 19, 2023, she allegedly wrote, “I watched the selects you sent. So great. I was so happy and energized. Such solid work from everyone on and off camera. We were working so quickly, there was never the time to look back.”

Blake allegedly added, “Please let me know who to reach out to get to access to the full gallery of dallies. Im so looking forward to seeing all we have in the can. And of course, any scenes you cut together, I’d love to see. Hope you’re having a good summer. And hopefully a good edit. Will your assembly be done soon?”

Justin said a screenshot of her request to the coproducers asking for guidance.

Another associate replied, “I’d say no (but check her contract first, lol).” Another producer, Jamey Heath, wrote, “I was waiting for [redacted] to respond first. It’s an absolute no for me as well. Respectfully. Not sure best way to respond being how delicate it is.”

Justin said he and his producers strategized about how to respond to Blake “which became common practice, so as not to trigger backlash from [Blake].”

His lawyer said Justin and his partners “rightly feared that giving her the dailies could turn into her demanding to edit the whole movie (which is exactly what ultimately happened): Justin said he ended up “politely” pushing back on Blake’s request for dallies.

On July 20, 2023, Justin wrote, “Re Dallies. Obviously you know I want your input, that’s why I sent the five hour playlist, but at this point it’s too early for me to share all the dallies. I start my cut in the early August given the new editors, and still going through the rest myself. Also figuring out our shooting plan as I have to cut and combine and find ways to scale down our budget. Once I am physically in the edit and have touched scenes myself I’d love to share with you.”

Blake allegedly replied the same day, “I don’t want to infringe on your time with your cut of course don’t feel the need to send me cut scenes. I was just excited to see. Re dallies — none of the producers have had access to dallies? It’s just you?” Justin told her only a few people had access.

Justin said the strikes ended in November and he expected to start shooting immediately. He said Blake and her lawyers “had been busy devising other plans during the strike.”

Justin said Blake and her team made a list of demands that Blake required Justin and Jamey to comply with before she resumed filming.

The actress accused the two of being inappropriate on set. She said Justin improvised unwanted kissing scenes and had spoken about his sex life. Blake also claimed he called her personal trainer to talk about her weight.

Blake accused Jamey of showing her a naked video of his wife. Justin and Jamey denied the claims.

Justin said Blake refused to meet with an intimacy coordinator before filming started. Jamey said the video of his wife was a birthing video and was shown because they were shooting a birthing scene. Justin and Jamey said they had no choice but to resume production and finish the film despite them disagreeing with Blake’s claims of sexual harassment.

After production ended, Justin claimed Blake fired his editors, demanded Sony release her cut of the film despite his testing higher and refused to allow him to come near the cast at the premiere.

Justin and Wayfarer’s powerhouse lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told In Touch, “This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media. It is clear based on our own all out willingness to provide all complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence that was shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and will certainly regret. Blake Lively was either severely misled by her team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth. Ms. Lively will never again be allowed to continue to exploit actual victims of real harassment solely for her personal reputation gain at the expense of those without power. Let’s not forget, Ms. Lively and her team attempted to bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons through their own dangerous manipulation of the media before even taking any actual legal action. We know the truth, and now the public does too. Justin and his team have nothing to hide, documents do not lie.”

After Justin’s lawsuit was filed in federal court, Blake’s legal team told In Touch, “The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”
