Miley Cyrus is opening up about new beginnings in 2025. A source exclusively tells In Touch that her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, is desperately hoping for one last chance to repair their shattered relationship, which virtually disintegrated in 2024 as she sided with her mom, Tish Cyrus.

“It’s pretty heartbreaking for Billy Ray because Miley has totally cut him off and has even been talking about what a great year she had in 2024, as though this feud with her dad didn’t even upset her,” the insider says. “He’s completely depressed over the situation and worried that if he can’t break through to her soon, they might end up estranged forever.”

The source continues, “He calls her all the time and sends her messages but she completely ignores him. She won’t pick up his calls but he keeps trying. He’s also begged [her siblings] Noah and Braison to work on her on his behalf.”

The insider adds that the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, 63, has said that “all he wants this year is to get Miley back in his life,” and he’s having a hard time accepting the riff between them is permanent.

“He truly can’t believe that it’s come to this. Tish isn’t speaking to him either, but he’s even been reaching out to her and asking her to intervene,” the source reveals. “It’s humiliating because he’s had to admit all his mistakes, but he says he’s ready to take full responsibility and will go to hell and back if it means fixing things with Miley. That’s all that matters to him.”

When Miley, 32, won a Grammy for Record of the Year in February 2024, she didn’t mention her dad in her acceptance speech. However, she did acknowledge her mom, Tish, 57, and sister Brandi Cyrus, who accompanied her on stage to receive the award.

“I don’t think I forgot anyone,” Miley told the crowd, “but I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”

However, the “Flowers” artist isn’t the only child of Billy Ray to have a strained relationship with him. On Wednesday, January 22, his son Trace Cyrus penned a letter to his dad and expressed his concern for the country singer and shared the message via Instagram.

“Since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life,” Trace, 35, wrote to Billy Ray who adopted him after he married Trace’s mom, Tish.

He continued, “I love you Dad. We haven’t talked in a while but I’m over a year and half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing. I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly, but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till [sic] that day comes I will continue to pray for you.”

Two days later, Page Six reported that Miley had “no interest” in fixing her broken relationship with her father. A source told the outlet that Trace ran the letter by all of his siblings, except his brother Braison, before he posted it and they all “signed off” on what he wrote.
