Back to family life. Ben Affleck reunited with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their child Fin for a school play, after he was forced to evacuate his home during the devastating Palisades fire.

Jennifer, 52, and Fin, 16, were photographed leaving the event in Santa Monica, California, on January 25, while Ben, 52, was pictured having a cigarette break outside during the reunion, in snapshots obtained by The Daily Mail.

The Air actor purchased his $20.5 million bachelor pad in the upscale seaside neighborhood in July 2024, prior to estranged wife Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce the following month. Ben was photographed in his car entering the security code to open his front gate on January 8, after being allowed by authorities to return home. He was forced to evacuate during the deadly fire that broke out on January 7. More than 6,000 homes were destroyed or heavily damaged in the blaze, which killed at least 11 people.

Ben fled to his Daredevil costar’s house in nearby Brentwood, California, during the Palisades fire evacuation, where Jen lives with the former couple’s two youngest children, Fin and 12-year-old son Samuel. Their eldest daughter, 19-year-old Violet, attends college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Violet was still home on her holiday break when the wind-whipped fire broke out. Ben was photographed emotionally hugging his daughter on January 11, when she and her mom visited the Argo star at his five-bedroom, six-bathroom house.

Ben closed escrow on July 24, 2024, which happened to fall on J. Lo’s 55th birthday. The “Waiting for Tonight” singer, 55, filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, after two years of marriage. Her timing was curious as well, as the date fell on the second anniversary of their lavish wedding at Ben’s Georgia estate.

The Gone Girl actor was one of the lucky stars who had a house to return to in Pacific Palisades. A number of celebrities lost their homes and all of their belongings, including Miles and Keleigh Teller, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Maria Shriver, Melissa Rivers, Brad Paisley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake and more.

Three days after the fire broke out, Jen opened up about losing a friend in the Palisades fire while volunteering to deliver food to those affected by the fires.

“I did lose a friend and for our church it’s really tender, so I don’t feel like I should talk about her yet. But yeah, I did lose a friend who did not get out in time,” the 13 Going on 30 star told MSNBC on January 10. She was a regular attendee of a Methodist church in Pacific Palisades that burned to the ground in the blaze.

Jen continued, “My heart bleeds for my friends. I mean, I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost. I’ve lived in and around the Palisades for 25 years. So, I think all of us just — we want to get our hands into working somehow to be helpful. It is not some far away place that you can’t reach.”

The Peppermint star was working with World Central Kitchen, founded by chef José Andrés, to distribute meals to people in shelters and first responders.

“It is an incredible thing to watch somebody, to watch World Central Kitchen and Chef José just come in and just, ‘We’ve got this handled, don’t worry. We’ve got you,’” she concluded.
