Ben Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner fueled reconciliation rumors after they were spotted getting cozy while hosting son Samuel Affleck’s 13th birthday party at a paintball range.

Photos emerged of the pair spending time together on Sunday, March 2, showing the duo next to each other and flashing wide smiles during their conversations. Ben, 52, and Garner’s eldest two kids, Violet Affleck, 19, and Seraphina “Fin” Affleck, 16, were also in attendance.

Daily Mail UK shared a video of the Daredevil costars that showed just how close the exes are. In the video, Garner, 52, was in battle mode and she stood with force while aiming to shoot at a target. Meanwhile, Ben got handsy as he held her close from the side and rested his hands on her hips.

Although Ben’s face was hidden by his protective mask, it was clear he was the one embracing Garner as his gray jacket and shirt were visible.

“They get along great. She makes him laugh like no one else can,” a source told People on Monday, March 3. “She seems happy that Ben’s happy.”

Reconciliation speculation surrounding the Oscar winner and The Adam Project actress comes less than one month after Ben finalized his divorce from second ex-wife Jennifer Lopez. The “On the Floor” singer, 55, filed for divorce in August 2024 after two years of marriage. J. Lo listed April 26, 2024, as her and Ben’s official date of separation.

Last month, In Touch reported that Ben and Garner, who separated in 2015, were close for more reasons than sharing their three kids together.

“They had a very difficult breakup, but they’ve healed those wounds and are incredibly close,” a source exclusively told In Touch in a story published on February 19.

The insider revealed that their friendship is so “deep” and “meaningful” that some of their friends “might say they’re closer now than they were when they were married.” However, some people in their circle wonder if “maybe they’ve gotten a little too close for comfort,” the source noted.

On top of that, J. Lo even noticed Ben and Garner’s bond during her marriage to her former Gigli costar.

“[Friends] thought J. Lo might have felt threatened by Ben and [Garner]’s bond, but she didn’t think anything romantic was going on,” the source continued to In Touch. “Though she saw how they acted around each other, the body language. There was a closeness between [Garner] and Ben that J. Lo may have felt she could never compete with.”

The insider also revealed how Garner’s boyfriend, John Miller, feels about his lady’s close relationship with Ben.

According to In Touch’s source, “He seems less threatened by their bond” and even “seems to like Ben.”

“[Garner] will always want to ride to Ben’s rescue, but it stops there. The ship has sailed as far as the romance returning,” the insider explained. “They’ve just been through so much together, how can they not be incredibly close and bonded forever?”

Ben and Garner tied the knot in 2005 and were married for 10 years before announcing their separation in 2015. They finalized their divorce three years later.
