‘Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown Admits He Doesn’t Want to Be Intimate With Meri

It doesn’t look like the drama between Sister Wives couple Meri and Kody Brown is ending anytime soon. The stars of the TLC reality show are experiencing a bump in their relationship making fans wonder, “Are Meri and Kody Brown still together?

Meri was Kody’s first wife and technically only their marriage and his marriage to Robyn are legal in the eyes of the law. In 2014, Kody divorced Meri in order to wed Robyn. Plus, he also has his other “wives” Christine and Janelle. Naturally, this creates a complicated family tree and according to the recent tell-all episode, Kody and Meri aren’t exactly on the same page when it comes to their relationship.

During the special — which aired Sunday, March 25 — NBC’s Andrea Canning relived the controversial scene with Kody discussed his plans to divorce Meri with a reporter on speakerphone in his car. He admitted that Meri calls herself his wife, but that they don’t actually live together. In the tell-all, he clarified his statement explaining, “I was feeling a little snarky. Not towards Meri, but towards this law,” he said, referring to how all of his “wives” aren’t recognized by the law. Meri explained that hearing Kody’s comments were hurtful: “What’s hard to hear is you saying that you feel like a divorced couple living on the same block and the lack of intimacy.”

Andrea then asked Kody, “And you saying that you don’t want to be intimate with Meri right now. Is that still where things stand?” He simply replied, “Yes.”

But, all hope isn’t lost that Meri and Kody will be able to work it out. In fact, Meri revealed that she still wants to work through their problems. “I want more of a relationship with him than we’re having right now,” she explained. But, last season Kody expressed his distrust of Meri after her Catfish scandal. The couple tried going to therapy to save their marriage, but they clearly still have a long way to go before they’re on stable ground again.

In one emotional episode, Kody confronted Meri’s complicated situation and said, “You didn’t want to be out of the family, you just wanted to be out of your relationship with me.” Ouch.
