Fans got to know Baylen Dupree, a young woman living with Tourette syndrome, and her now-fiancé, Colin Dooley, on TLC’s new reality show Baylen Out Loud. In Touch breaks down how they met, when they got engaged and if they are still together today.

When Did Baylen Dupree and Colin Dooley Start Dating?

The couple first met via a dating app in November 2022 and quickly hit it off.

“Love at first sight,” she gushed about their connection.

Colin noted that Baylen was very transparent about her neurodevelopmental disorder on her profile. “I didn’t actually know if she was telling the truth or not,” he shared in a sneak peek of the reality series. “People make jokes all the time on dating apps.”

While feeling the mutual attraction, Colin admitted that he “knew nothing” about Tourette syndrome and it was ultimately a “learning curve” for him. Fans of the show see the couple laugh together and work through their relationship issues like any other couple would.

Colin Dooley Was Candid About The Process of Getting to Know Each Other

Baylen, who was diagnosed just before her 18th birthday, regularly experiences coprolalia, or “involuntary (outbursts) of obscene words or socially inappropriate and derogatory remarks.”

“When we went on our first date, I was just thinking in my head like, ‘How am I going to make this work?’” Colin said in a July 2023 Seen.tv clip. “’I really like this girl, if she was constantly ticking 24/7, am I going to be able to talk to her? Is she going to be able to talk to me?’”

According to the Tourette Association of America, the condition is characterized by sudden, involuntary movements and/or sounds called tics which can range from mild/inconsequential to moderate and severe. Tics can be motor, vocal/phonic or both.

Colin said they ultimately had a “really great time” together and “it was awesome,” revealing he still asks Baylen questions if they arise.

The TikTok star has continued to use her platform to bring awareness and share her life updates with a following of 10 million plus on TikTok and 1.5 million on Instagram.

Colin and Baylen ended up being a great match, and she told People in January 2025 they are evolving together, adding, “I am still learning about [Tourette]. My parents are still learning about it.”

“There’s so much more work that needs to be done to educate more people and to understand fully what people are going through and dealing with.”

The couple announced news of their engagement on February 11, 2025, while giving the world a first look at her beautiful diamond sparkler.

“Does this ring make me look engaged?” she shared with People in her statement. “We can’t wait to take you along on this journey — through all the ups, downs, and everything in between. But one thing’s for sure, we’re beyond excited for this next chapter of our lives!”

It appears they have plenty of excitement up ahead as Baylen said that she would love to start a family with Colin in the near future.
