Angelina Jolie slammed “liars” just four days after she reached a settlement in her messy divorce from ex-husband Brad Pitt.

While speaking to W Magazine in an interview published on Friday, January 3, Angelina, 49, was asked about her biggest “pet peeves.” She didn’t hold back as she responded, “So many things. But my pet peeve is somebody who is a liar.”

While she didn’t give specific examples of who she was speaking about, Angelina continued to detail the kind of person she views as a liar. “Somebody who feels a need to not say the truth or what they want, what they feel. There’s a big version of that — and I’m not trying to be heavy about it — but people who say one thing and mean another, who aren’t completely who they are. I think a lot of people don’t say what they mean.”

Angelina made the comment just days after she and Brad, 61, reached a settlement in their divorce on Monday, December 30, 2024, which In Touch confirmed at the time.

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Angelina’s lawyer James Simon told People in a statement. “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

The former couple tied the knot in 2014, and she filed for divorce in 2016 after two years of marriage. The filing came shortly after she accused Brad of being abusive towards their children following an alleged incident on a plane. An investigation was launched following the incident, though charges were never pressed against Brad.

Angelina and Brad – who were both declared legally single in 2019 – share kids Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16. The kids have remained close with Angelina and are estranged from Brad.

Their divorce made headlines over the years as they battled over custody, as well as legal issues surrounding their $164 million French estate and winery, Château Miraval.

In December 2024, an insider exclusively told In Touch that Angelina was “overwhelmed” over their court battle for Château Miraval.

“Brad’s team has painted him as a ‘man of principle’ who won’t back down, but to her, it feels so ruthless,” the source said at the time. “She’s overwhelmed and wondering what he really wants from her at this point. It’s like he’s using his money and influence to bulldoze her, especially since she was open to settling, and he clearly just wants to steamroller.”

Meanwhile, an additional source exclusively told In Touch that Brad was upset about his estrangement from their kids and he wants to be part of their lives.

“It was very hard for Brad to see photos of Knox with Angelina on the red carpet because he hardly gets to see him,” a source exclusively told In Touch in December 2024, referencing Angelina and Knox’s red carpet appearance at the the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 15th Annual Governors Awards in November 2024. “He’s proud of Knox and has no issue with him getting out there and making a name for himself but he can’t help but feel it’s all very calculated by Angelina to mess with him.”
