Angelina Jolie is still picking herself off the floor after being “steamrolled” with her Oscars snub, a source tells In Touch exclusively, revealing the actress is locked in serious talks over her next move.
“Angelina had Netflix’s full backing but CAA steered the entire company behind Demi [Moore]. Look who won that little battle, and decisively at that. Everybody in town knows that Netflix spent ten times more money than Demi’s team did to try and get her nominated, and that turned out to be millions of dollars down the drain,” spilled an insider, referring to Demi’s role in The Substance.
The Substance earned Demi, 62, her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. It ultimately took home an Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 97th annual Academy Awards held on March 2, which Angelina skipped.
“This is really the worst result possible, and Angelina isn’t sitting on a ton of finished work,” added the source. “If she still wants to be an A-list leading lady, she’s back to square one. She’s never had a giant agency machine behind her the way Demi had this year with CAA. Angelina got steamrolled, and she knows exactly why.”
Angelina, 49, previously took home the prize more than two decades ago for Best Supporting Actress thanks to her captivating performance in the 1999 film, Girl, Interrupted.

Her gripping 2024 musical drama, Maria, was overlooked at the Academy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards, although she did earn a Golden Globe nomination in the category of Best Performance by a Female Actor.
“The big question is, what is she gonna do about it? She needs to run into another movie, because right now the cupboard is almost empty!” the source tells In Touch.
Angelina poured her heart into channeling opera legend Maria Callas in the 2024 film Maria, studying the music icon’s posture, recordings and demeanor to best portray the role.
She also practiced piano, took Italian language classes, and singing courses to master the pitch, breathing, and posture required for opera, as well as the specific style of singing.
Angelina, a mom of six, said she resonated with Maria’s passion for her craft while noting she also has her own driving force, revealing nothing makes her more fulfilled than being a mom to her six kids: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, as well as twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
“It’s my happiness,” Angelina told Michael Strahan about the children she shares with ex Brad Pitt on Good Morning America in November 2024. “You can take everything else away from me. Nothing else matters.”
“All of my children suffered through my early opera singing in the house before I got kinda good, which was a nightmare,” Angelina added about her training for the role, which lasted more than seven months.
Angelina also revealed that she identified a lot with Maria as they both experienced life in the spotlight. The opera singer died in September 1977 after suffering a heart attack at 53.
“There’s obvious things that people would tie our lives and see we have in common. But I think it’s more … how hard she is in herself with her work, sometimes seen as strong, but actually very vulnerable and human. I certainly am,” Angelina admitted.
“I think we would have been friends,” the actress continued. “She might have hated me at first. Think it would have grown on her.”
